College Game day in AA?
November 13th, 2010 at 6:36 PM ^
I think Wiscy @ Michigan.
November 13th, 2010 at 6:36 PM ^
Here for ND next year.

Or Nebraska. Or Ohio State. Or all 3. (oK, not really).
November 13th, 2010 at 6:41 PM ^
Yeah, I would guess it will be at Nebraska-A&M game as well. Next most likely Arkansas-Miss. State, then Ann Arbor.

November 13th, 2010 at 6:41 PM ^
won't be ranked?!
November 13th, 2010 at 7:12 PM ^
Not with that laughing stock of a defense. The coaches may give em some love but the writers, outside of the midwest that is, most certainly will not.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:17 PM ^
...and think our defense has improved. And laughing stock is pretty harsh. After looking at Auburn, I'm not feeling awful about our players, just concern regarding the coaching.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:30 PM ^
What do you mean? Why does Auburn make you feel less awful about the players?
November 13th, 2010 at 7:56 PM ^
I think maybe he means their defense? Their D is kind of suspect?
November 13th, 2010 at 9:01 PM ^
Maybe. Their D is definitely suspect. The last couple weeks I've said that Auburn is what I hope Michigan can look like next year. Michigan's D probably can't get quite to as average as Auburn's D is but maybe they'll be close. Then that would put them in the running for 10-2 or better.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:34 PM ^
65 allowed against Illinois isn't harsh?
Penn State walk on QB isn't harsh?
500+ yards allowed against pretty much everyone else this season isn't harsh?
But you're right. It's not the players and I would never directly insult them.
I suppose I'm frustrated with a HC who parrots scheme doesn't matter and then shoves this 3-3-5 gimmick down the throats of the DCs. I wish the DC would have some autonomy regarding his side of the ball but RR is the HC and not me so I don't get a vote.
But it's sheer madness to run a scheme which plays to Michigan's weakness.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:18 PM ^
under the impression that our defense performed pretty damn well today. (See matt D's Statistical Analysis of Defense During B10 Games- *Updated Through Purdue*) It was our offense that suffered in the Angry God Rain.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:31 PM ^
Perhaps.
I hope you're right. Because Wisky and tUoOS aren't Illinois and Purdue.

No doubt. I have more hope for the osu game. I bet our players will be amped to be the class that ends this god awful streak. They have the offensive ability to do it. I think if the team that played Illinois shows up, we have a chance. 67 points on the #15 defense at the time and also came very close to upsetting ohio st is nothing to sneeze at.
November 13th, 2010 at 8:03 PM ^
it's pretty thin at the end of the Top 25, and several teams will drop out today
November 13th, 2010 at 6:40 PM ^
App St vs. Florida.
November 13th, 2010 at 6:41 PM ^
If gameday is in AA, will they switch the time of the game to 3:30? I hope so, then the Dr. Phillips' kids can come up.
November 13th, 2010 at 8:23 PM ^
November 13th, 2010 at 8:27 PM ^
Really? That's a rule!?!? That seems so stupid. Why aren't the imported lights good enough?
November 13th, 2010 at 8:24 PM ^
November 13th, 2010 at 8:39 PM ^
Thanks. It doesn't look like they will be able to make it up for a game. There still is the Big Chill.
November 13th, 2010 at 6:41 PM ^
i think its gonna be a big ten game
which one is the question
November 13th, 2010 at 6:44 PM ^
I don't think they'll do the Big XII. Game Day almost has to go to the Bedlam Rivalry. The only other game is LSU @ Arkansas, and I want to say they've been to Fayetteville this season.
Along with your suggestions, a wildcard to watch: The Big Game. Stanford at Cal, especially if Cal pulls the huge upset tonight. Unlikely, but it's possible.
November 13th, 2010 at 6:47 PM ^
I think you got the wrong week or am I missing something.
November 13th, 2010 at 6:50 PM ^
I said no Big XII this week because they'll be there the following week. Cal/Stanford is next week, no?
I mean, I might live in the future. I have thoroughly cleaned the apartment today, so the chemicals I'm breathing in may have me hallucinating horrendously.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:05 PM ^
If you live in the future, are you revealing yourself as THE KNOWLEDGE?
.
YES!
.
.
If not, tell The Knowledge we said hi.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:41 PM ^
OK, got it. Sorry, a little slow after missing the second half of the game when my cable DVR didn't work. Wigged out on Time Warner, they may be sending the cops after me.

I previously heard that it will be a while before Gameday comes to A2 again. Apparently, the last time they were there ESPN complained the crowd was too loud and Corso was crying about the fans giving him grief about the Indiana game which generated one of Ufer's greatest calls. Apparently Corso is still pissed about that game to this day and the fans heckling him about Lawrence Reid got under his skin. Whatever.
But then again, the SportsNation broadcast was such an overwhelming success (Cowherd and Beadle both loved A2) that Gameday may make a visit sooner rather than later.
So who knows?
My bet is on the Notre Dame game next year as well.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:13 PM ^
Herbstreit immediately thought of the OSU-Iowa game.
Call me a conspiracy theorist all you want-- but today's Buckstache love-fest was ridonkulous. I think Herbstreit's kids got more face time than Desmond. And yes, I am exaggerating.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:17 PM ^
Howard was beautiful when he mentioned the tUoOS fans must be asleep when Fowler mentioned Michigan and there wasn't any boos.
On another note, I had job interview on Friday; panel interview -- standard fare. Or so I thought.
This woman said to me, when looking at my resume, "I noticed you went to Michigan... I went to ohio state... since I'm a fan of ohio state, what made you decide to go to Michigan?"
Seriously, that's your question? Dumb cunt!
November 13th, 2010 at 7:29 PM ^
After saying that, she snickered like an evil villain and spit her tobacco juice into the empty Natty Light can between her legs...?
November 13th, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
The amazing thing is I bit my tongue. I think I was shocked and the cat got my tongue.
I mean I'm interviewing for a strategic position and that's the best she can come up with? You have me for an hour, time is limited, there are a million things to discuss and the most important thing she could think of was giving me shit cause I went to Michigan.
With vision and professionalism like that, I'm guessing she slept her way to the top. Nobody is that stupid otherwise. Or are they?
November 13th, 2010 at 8:04 PM ^
Or maybe she's just trying to break the ice? Not trying to hate on the passion, but with an hour for the interview maybe she figured you would have enough time to touch on the substantive parts?
November 14th, 2010 at 9:33 AM ^
Maybe... but the whole thing was very rushed. Most of the interviews I have gone on lately have been multiple hour deals and occurring over several days. This was more like speed dating. Other people asked great questions... questions which made me think, were challenging, and exposed my faults. They came very rapid fire. That's why I'm being so critical of her. She's an idiot and completely wasted her time.
November 13th, 2010 at 8:46 PM ^
She's trying to find out how you react to unexpected situations. Sounds like you came up short.
November 14th, 2010 at 9:30 AM ^
Yeah. That's it.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:53 PM ^
if you went to Michigan?
har har
November 13th, 2010 at 7:13 PM ^
for the record... today should have been in Gainesville, period.
November 13th, 2010 at 7:12 PM ^
They would only do Nebraska-A&M if A&M beats Baylor tonight.
November 14th, 2010 at 1:28 AM ^
42-30 A&M
November 13th, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
This week must have been a favor to Herbie. No business being in Columbus. Gameday has become a joke. Herbie becomming less and less objective.
November 13th, 2010 at 8:14 PM ^
I'd be surprised, since it would be back-to-back Big 10 games with only one team ranked (unless UM sneaks in to the top 25). The Wiscy explosion today might actually help just for the shock factor, but I figure they'll be back in SEC country or out west for Cal-Stanford if that game seems relevant. Now, if UM beats Wiscy, then maybe gameday for The Game?
November 13th, 2010 at 8:45 PM ^
Mmmmm...Cheeseburger!
November 13th, 2010 at 11:17 PM ^
I'd personally love to see them go to Lehigh-Lafayette. There don't seem to be that many marquee games next week, and they could go to Easton to provide some history to the college football rivalry with the most number of games played. Plus, if Herbie is commentating the game in Iowa City next week, he'll be close enough to the airport to get there by gametime.
