College Game day in AA?

Submitted by Shoelaces_Pfft on
Just heard mossberger and herbstreet say it's up in the air as far as the location goes. Thanks to iowas loss and maybe osu's. Next week possible locations: (9)OSU @ Iowa 3:30pm- Maybe but lost it's appeal. (7)Wisconsin @ Michigan 12:00pm- Wisconsin's run for a big 10 title vs a young/rising wolverine squad. (20)Virginia Tech @ Miami 3:30pm- ACC title implications. (15)Arkansas @ (19)Mississippi State 7:00pm- Maybe if Miss beats Alabama tonight. (16)Oklahaoma @Baylor 7:00pm (8)Nebraska @ (25) TA&M 8:00pm Thoughts?

I can't see them coming here since we probably won't be ranked. oSU/Iowa both would be. neb/ta&m both would be too. They'll come next year.

Not with that laughing stock of a defense.  The coaches may give em some love but the writers, outside of the midwest that is, most certainly will not.

Maybe.  Their D is definitely suspect.  The last couple weeks I've said that Auburn is what I hope Michigan can look like next year.  Michigan's D probably can't get quite to as average as Auburn's D is but maybe they'll be close.  Then that would put them in the running for 10-2 or better.

65 allowed against Illinois isn't harsh?

Penn State walk on QB isn't harsh?

500+ yards allowed against pretty much everyone else this season isn't harsh?

But you're right.  It's not the players and I would never directly insult them.

I suppose I'm frustrated with a HC who parrots scheme doesn't matter and then shoves this 3-3-5 gimmick down the throats of the DCs.  I wish the DC would have some autonomy regarding his side of the ball but RR is the HC and not me so I don't get a vote.

But it's sheer madness to run a scheme which plays to Michigan's weakness.

No doubt. I have more hope for the osu game. I bet our players will be amped to be the class that ends this god awful streak. They have the offensive ability to do it. I think if the team that played Illinois shows up, we have a chance. 67 points on the #15 defense at the time and also came very close to upsetting ohio st is nothing to sneeze at.

I don't think they'll do the Big XII. Game Day almost has to go to the Bedlam Rivalry. The only other game is LSU @ Arkansas, and I want to say they've been to Fayetteville this season.

Along with your suggestions, a wildcard to watch: The Big Game. Stanford at Cal, especially if Cal pulls the huge upset tonight. Unlikely, but it's possible.

I previously heard that it will be a while before Gameday comes to A2 again.  Apparently, the last time they were there ESPN complained the crowd was too loud and Corso was crying about the fans giving him grief about the Indiana game which generated one of Ufer's greatest calls.  Apparently Corso is still pissed about that game to this day and the fans heckling him about Lawrence Reid got under his skin.  Whatever.

But then again, the SportsNation broadcast was such an overwhelming success (Cowherd and Beadle both loved A2) that Gameday may make a visit sooner rather than later.

So who knows?

My bet is on the Notre Dame game next year as well.

Herbstreit immediately thought of the OSU-Iowa game.

Call me a conspiracy theorist all you want-- but today's Buckstache love-fest was ridonkulous.  I think Herbstreit's kids got more face time than Desmond.  And yes, I am exaggerating.

Howard was beautiful when he mentioned the tUoOS fans must be asleep when Fowler mentioned Michigan and there wasn't any boos.

On another note, I had job interview on Friday; panel interview -- standard fare.  Or so I thought.

This woman said to me, when looking at my resume, "I noticed you went to Michigan... I went to ohio state... since I'm a fan of ohio state, what made you decide to go to Michigan?"

Seriously, that's your question?  Dumb cunt!

The amazing thing is I bit my tongue.  I think I was shocked and the cat got my tongue.

I mean I'm interviewing for a strategic position and that's the best she can come up with?  You have me for an hour, time is limited, there are a million things to discuss and the most important thing she could think of was giving me shit cause I went to Michigan.

With vision and professionalism like that, I'm guessing she slept her way to the top.  Nobody is that stupid otherwise.  Or are they?

Maybe... but the whole thing was very rushed.  Most of the interviews I have gone on lately have been multiple hour deals and occurring over several days.  This was more like speed dating.  Other people asked great questions... questions which made me think, were challenging, and exposed my faults.  They came very rapid fire.  That's why I'm being so critical of her.  She's an idiot and completely wasted her time.

I'd be surprised, since it would be back-to-back Big 10 games with only one team ranked (unless UM sneaks in to the top 25).  The Wiscy explosion today might actually help just for the shock factor, but I figure they'll be back in SEC country or out west for Cal-Stanford if that game seems relevant.  Now, if UM beats Wiscy, then maybe gameday for The Game?

I'd personally love to see them go to Lehigh-Lafayette. There don't seem to be that many marquee games next week, and they could go to Easton to provide some history to the college football rivalry with the most number of games played. Plus, if Herbie is commentating the game in Iowa City next week, he'll be close enough to the airport to get there by gametime.
