College Football Podcasts?

Submitted by Jeff on

The first thing that has to go in this post is that I would love it if MGoPodcast returned.  I listened to every single MGoPodcast last year, sometimes I slept with them playing in my ears.

Now that we have that out of the way, let's make the main thing the main thing.  Does anybody listen to good podcasts that are entirely or primarily about college football?

I listened to EDSBS Live when Brian was on it, and then listened to it again last week.  It's not bad, but it's not great either.  Spencer is hard to hear, and it is still sports talk radio even if it is 100 times better than the sports talk radio actually on the radio.  Despite these shortcomings, I will probably listen to some future episodes.  Especially if Big Boutros calls in again.

Are there any others out there worth listening to?  If you follow an awesome podcast that's not about college football, I wouldn't mind hearing about it (even though that's off-topic).

BlackHeartGoldPants podcast. Even the theme music is all sorts of awesome, even if the information parsed is generally useless to me - especially during basketball season.

MaizenBrew does a joint podcast with BHGP as well called "Maize Pants Podcast". I also highly recommend it for Big Ten fans.

I don't have enough points to post yet, so I'll say it here...

I'm alittle tired of all the darn negativity here!  We won the game, didn't I?  I realize that there were many problems, but I think we got to see us play bad and win...the start of it maybe?

I live out of state and find the WTKA podcasts keep me close to Michigan sports info.  They post a dozen or so podcasts daily and label them appropriately so you can download the ones that interest you most.

Perhaps this falls into the "sports talk radio" you referenced, but some of their weekly guests are worth the listen.  I usually load up my iPhone with several before heading out for the commute home.

I noticed quick a few others out there on iTunes, but have yet to check them out.  Search "Michigan football."   Report back if you find anything worthwhile.

Would also welcome the return of the MGoPodcasts.

I would love to see the MGOpodcasts come back as well and see host some of the better bloggers and college football minds on the interwebs.  It would be great for the blog and I'm sure would be a pretty popular feature around here.

I'm a big fan of Talking College Football.  It falls into the category of "guilty pleasure" but I find it pretty funny and the format is very good.

I also really like the ESPN college football podcast.  In particular, the Monday edition with Ivan Maisel and Gene Wojawhatsisface is really good.  The ESPN podcasts have a lot of dry humor stuff that the guys could never say outside of a podcast.  It's a refreshing change from the normal ESPN crap.  For example, Beano Cook on just about every other podcast makes some kind of snide comment about professional baseball.  It's highly entertaining.

I'm not a fan at all of the Solid Verbal but it's free, so it's worth a try I guess.

In The Bleachers is pretty good when they have a good guest although it's a bit dull other than that.

Count me as another vote who wishes that mgopodcast would make a comeback.
