College Football Open Thread Night 2

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
Can't live up to last night, but it's football. Please if MSU goes down 3-0 to Western let's not act like they're not going to win by multiple touchdowns. Also Texas Tech-SMU, Florida Atlantic-Miami (YTM), N. Dakota St-KSU (maybe good?), N. Arizona-Arizona, and Morgan St-Army already underway.

Love seeing that fool, Dennard, celebrate after that incompletion, as if he had anything to do with it. It was a good throw, the WR beat him, and Dennard had to tug a little on the WR's arm to make him miss it. Nice missed call, ref.

TOUCHDOWN BISON!!

7-0 NDSU. NDSU is taking it to K-State. 2-time defending FCS champs aren't intimidated at all. Dangerous team.

Got Northern Az vs Rich Rod in less than an hour - its aboslutely pouring here in Phoenix.  Its still sunny in Tucson right now, but they have a 30% chance of storms later in the evening.

If anyone is looking for a random football game, Texas Tech and Southern Methodist are tryinf to out-FG each other over on ESPN. Both teams combined have rushed for all of 46 yards and we're about 1/3rd of the way through the second quarter. Sounds bad, but it is something.

Anyone else having problems with the sound after commercials? I'm streaming online, it goes to commercial, and then when it comes back the sound doesn't come back on unless I click the sound bar again.

What gives?

Yeah, pretty annoying. If you just click the sound bar, it fixes, but still annoying. The broadcast also appears to lag far behind live feed, which is annoying.

Edit: I guess you had already figured out the sound bar part...

They need to hit their damn receivers!!! MSU's offense is letting this team hang around they need to advantage.

Sparty offense has gone from bad to horrific. Mawell Silver Hammer was the most efficient passer in the Big Ten last year without accomplishing anything. Because Sparty insists on running drag routes, hitches and end arounds as big plays apparently because  its qbs can't complete a pass beyond 10 yards, how are they going to compete against Indiana?

I'm not kidding, even if your defense blows up the other team's offense, your own offense has to do something. This offense is pathetic. Who is going to take Riley Bullough and Langford seriously as running backs. No one.

If you really like field goals, the SMU-Texas Tech game is your game at this point. SMU ran a nice, futile draw play on 3rd and 17, forced to punt and now Texas Tech may have actually figured out that touchdowns may be mathematically possible. Neither team is above 50% on 3rd down conversions at this juncture.

I'm actually cautiously optimistic about Tech so far. They are starting a true freshman walk-on at QB,and he has actually looked impressive save for a few terrible decisions over the middle. They're having some consistency issues, but not entirely unexpected. Also, Gilbert is turrible.

I'm officially not worried about Michigan State. I know it's the first game and all but their offense is just plain bad. There defense may be good but it's not Alabama dominant.

If they can't hold teams to less than 20 they will, most likely, lose every game.
