I hate ND.
I hate ND.
I agree 100%.
Please, no ND in national title game.
I agree with you whole-heartedly. It makes me feel dirty to say so...dirty in a way that a dozen scalding hot showers won't cleanse, but still I agree with you.
discussed numerous times elsewhere.
but I am insanely pleased...
I'm more or less with you. I don't like the outlook for the MNC game, but I'll never stop rooting for the top ranked teams to lose (unless they're my teams, obviously). Ridiculous upsets late in the year are the best thing about college football.
Meh, seeing ND get demolished wouldn't be so bad I guess.
But what if they don't? What if they play like they did at oklahoma and knock off Alabama? I've been expecting them to lose all season and they just won't do it. I don't want to live in a world where ND are national champs.
they did against OU wont be nearly good enugh to beat Bama.
I'm pretty sure you could give ND 5 downs instead of 4 through the entire game and they'd still lose to Bama.
Even with their other worldly luck they've had this season.
Ahhh... Now I see why BISB stepped down.
Because someone wrote a post about college football, maybe not informative but certainly not offensive?
Heaven forbid an internet mod would ever have to deal with inchoate arguments....
Is there any real chance they beat Bama?
It's in Georgia, and the Dogs are one of the best teams Bama has faced this year. Should be a good game.
Unless Georgia got way better since I saw them at home vs Tennessee, or Alabama got way way way worse, no way. All of those highly ranked 1-loss SEC teams are crap. Georgia in particular is just dumb. Like we'd be forsaking half of that team for Stevie Brown 2009-level mistakes if we were rooting for them
TAMU tried the same gambit that M did: throw long and pray to the gods, and it worked. But Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, when you see them up close they're less scary than Nebraska this year. Tennessee could be Purdue. I realize they're supposed to be playing with a star better talent, and we've got five mid-major losses in the Big Ten this year, but I've watched more SEC games this year, live and on TV than any year prior and I'm sorry but they are far far far overblown. LSU is 1990s Michigan good, Bama is 2000s USC good--of the rest there isn't a team worth anything, and half the conference couldn't beat Indiana. If Oregon or K-State drops behind any of them it's a crime.
Since we're undoubtably playing one of them.
This is exactly how I've felt about mid-level SEC teams for a while. They get credit for beating quality competition, but that "quality competition" is just other mid-level SEC teams. It's a vicious cycle of overrated crap.
Right. The 4-7 Indiana powerhouse that was beaten by Ball State and that gave up 62 to Wisconsin is going to beat 10-1 Florida, 10-1 Georgia, 9-2 South Carolina, and 9-2 TA&M. If you say so.
I'm assuming he didn't mean the better half of the conference.
Kentucky, Vandy, et al. is what I meant. But I was being hyperbolic and forget the all-important "except for everybody else" part. Point remains: who have the SEC teams in the top ten played this year other than each other?
Vandy is actually a solid team.
How bout the worst of it all.If nd loses, Ohio wins.. Ohio "could" be ap national champions.. And drink
That would be the worst possible scenario imaginable.
To be fair, he did say "Ohio wins"...but I see what you did there. BEAT OHIO is understood.
Stanford and UCLA play this saturday. If Stanford wins, both teams will play a week later in the Pac-10 championship.
Oregon would get in over Florida, I think.
If Florida beats FSU, I think that gives them a leg up on Oregon.
still has to go to Tallahasee next Saturday. If Florida beats FSU, I doubt Oregon is ranked ahead of them. The only chance Oregon has to beat a ranked team is Oregon St (and maybe USC if USC beats ND). Oregon's schedule is going to hurt them now.
If Florida beats FSU, they'll have beaten FSU, LSU, South Carolina and Texas A&M.
Which thread do I post in, I'm confused????
You read the title, that's all I can muster as of now.
Pac 12 getting two in now seems likely
Michigan was always going to be an extreme long shot for a BCS bowl
Stanford has to play UCLA next week. If Stanford loses and Oregon beats Oregon St, it'll be Oregon vs UCLA for the Pac-10 title.
Woulda been nice for Oklahoma and Stanford to drop in the polls to help Michigan get to 14 but it was not our night.
There is a way that Ohio and ND can be champions in the same year....
No, if ND beat Bama in the BCS national championship, ND would also be #1 in the AP poll.
A pissed off USC. There is more drama to come. Lets hope Oregon doesn't fall out of top 3. I'm probably dreaming.
Who knows. At this point, UCS has to be considered one of the most disappointing teams in the country based upon pre-season hype. Whether they're pissed off or have thrown in the towel remains to be seen.
Either way Monte Kiffin has turned what once was a stud USC defense into a joke.
Moo U. is the biggest joke of a team based upon pre-season hype.
Oregon is going to drop. Probably to around 5 behind ND, Bama, Georgia, and Florida.
You just cannot lost to a team like Stanford at home and expect to get the benefit of the doubt from the voters. Especially when you're going against SEC teams.
And I know Stanford is a good team. But ND beat them, and they are considered an unathletic team and started a freshman QB in his first road start.
Barkley's arm is in a sling. Doesnt matter how pissed off they are.
What about '09. Pretty sure bama took care of business that season and went 14-0
Also , last tear LSU "took care of business" just lost to the better team in title game.
No McCoy got injured otherwise Texas was going to hammer them. Texas almost beat the with a freshman QB.
Georgia will not blow out ND- ND defense can hang around with Georgia jsut fine and the ND offense can do enough to make it a spirited game. GA is not all that. Bama on the other hand...
Agreed. ND beats Georgia. ND gets mooshed by Bama. I think ND loses to USC though and its Bama Oregon in the NC. Please, please no ND, SEC on SEC incestbowl, or Ohio AP national title.
