Coaching

Preface – This is not a “shot” a Lloyd Carr – Just my observations about Rodriguez and his staff.

Coach Rod and staff outcoached our opponents two week in a row.

This is the first time in a long time I can remember Michigan out coaching a team during the regular season, let alone two consecutive games.

During Lloyd’s tenure I felt we rarely maximized our talent via preparation, utilization, or scheme. We won games primarily because of our talent advantage.

Yesterday Michigan defeated an opponent that had superior talent, and superior experience. The win yesterday against Notre Dame was primary because of our coaching – not in spite of it.

I look forward to what Michigan Football can produce as the players learn the system and we get top level talent that can thrive in the system.

The timeout on ND's first TD, that got the review was the point difference in the game. Deciding to punt and trust the defense at the end was gutty. Charlie Weis throwing the ball on 2nd and 3rd down, saving 2 timeouts for michigan was huge, and may be the true "Beggining of the End" for Charlie!

60 minutes of football may have come down to a couple coaching decissions to decide this.

IN ROD WE TRUST!

With all of the negativity that RichRod has had over his short tenure it's great for him to get this win. How can RichRod supporters be any happier for him right now. I hope we don't have any more nail biters like this for awhile now because I don't know if my heart can take it

I could hardly believe with RichRod's decision to punt it away with 3 minutes left. Michigan's D had been, well suspect to say the least, for most of the game (exception 3rd quarter). I guess that's why he's the coach and not me but anyways, when Weiss throw that ball on second down, I couldn't believe it. My first thought was OMG WHAT A MORON and my second was, he just threw away his coaching status if we win.
