Coaching styles, what it takes to win. Patriots operate like a HS team?

Continuing the theme of coaching styles and what it takes to win here is an illuminating contrast of two teams as observed by the QB of the Redskins RG3.  In summary the Redskins and Patriots held joint practices in August 2014.  Washington went on to a 4-12 season and the Patriots won the Super Bowl.  RG3 makes some observations about how the Patriots operate.

So, Griffin just compared Bill Belichick to a high school coach. In the best way possible. “They’re attentive,” Griffin added. “They run on and off the field. They run after practice. They do what they have to do — and everyone understands, whether they like it or not, this is what it takes to win championships. And they won the championship.

is why the teams had a joint practice in the first place?  Is this common in the NFL?  I couldn't imagine Michigan doing something like that.

I'm seriously asking, I don't follow pro ball at all.

Spent time watching the old nfl films on Green Bay, because that is exactly what their coach broke out as important...not the deep tactics of plays, but the consistent approach of every play...repetition until perfection.

old people love MSN.

Someone in my office got a new computer and I set his homepage to google.

He asked me, "where did my MSN go?" Apparently he was incapacitated by the fact that MSN didn't show when he opened his web browser.

I was just saying this to my neighbor last night who is a Bama guy and we were talking about the Boone thing. I pointed to a guy like Brady or Manning who want to win championships--granted they don't get hit so it's different from most linemen or LB's RB's etc. In the case of the Pats, they surround those winners with guys who either a) don't care about the long term damage and just care about championships--Teddy Bruschi, Edelman, Welker, etc or young guys who are fortunate to get a shot and will do whatever is asked of them. Take a look at their roster from any championship, there are like two or three well known guys and that's about it. They all buy in and work as hard as asked. There are definitely guys in the league who are there for more than a check--the Polamalu's of the world but there are plenty of Boone's who infect the locker rooms and make it tough for a guy like Harbaugh. JH could coach the Pats. The Pats have the credibility to build their roster in whatever vision they desire and they do a great job of controlling it so it's only guys who buy in and fit that mold. Other organizations try to fill seats or whatever else motivates them and they lose sight of that. Probably be cause it takes a while to build and in this day and age you don't have that luxury
