In all the Harbaugh mania, I've forgotten how stacked the coaching roster is behind him. Let us be thankful that we have Durkin, retained Mattison, Baxter on ST, an NFL OC as passing game coordinator just for fun, etc etc

I figured there's enough threads with videos already so I'll just add this one here of Coach Fisch talking about the QBs. Feel free to update the OP if you want so people know its here.

Man, it's really hard to think Shane will win the job listening to Fisch talk here. Too bad if he can't, the kid has a ton of potential.
Having listened to the Rudock and Morris interviews and then how Jake Butt spoke about both Rudock and O'Korn, but especially about Rudock and here's Fisch qualifying his statements about Morris...I don't think it's looking good for young Shane.
I didn't take that away from the interview. It's all up to Shane. He has a big arm and can make all the throws, he just has to do it in live game situations where he has to think, adjust, and avoid the pass rush.

After watching Denard and Devin make some terrible turnovers...give me the guy who never turned the ball over at Iowa against B1G comp.
I don't get this. Morris is a true junior, which means he's got two years left. That's half of his college career, and realistically the better half. There's a good chance he gets to start for Michigan again. Maybe not to start this season (and maybe not this season at all), but he's not done by any sense if he doesn't.

"Don't turn the ball over, don't take sacks".
Mr. Morris will be watching from the sidelines.

I would be amazed if Morris ever starts more than a couple games in his Michigan career.

You can't say anything remotely negative about Shane Morris around here...it's kind of disturbing.

Good things to come

I have a feeling we're entering a really, really special period for Michigan football. I can't wait

Based on Jedd Fisch's comments on Morris and Malzone being neck and neck through spring practice and then Morris pulling away at the end "with experience" either Malzone is really really good as a freshmen or Morris is not going to start.
To hear Jake Butt tell it, Rudock already knows the playbook and has been working really well during 7 on 7 drills.
That Malzone was neck and neck with Morris...I'd like to think it says a lot about Malzone, but the reality is, it speaks more about Morris than Malzone.
Let's let them compete and get coached and we will see what happens. It would not surprise me to see either Shane or Jake win the job. I kinda hope it's Shane for the upside. We know Jake has proven to be solid so if Shane wins out that should be a good sign.

Really liked the Mattison interview. That's the first interview I've seen with him since Harbaugh came in and it's good to know he's still all in for Michigan, and he definitely seems happy where he is.

Assuming that Jake is the starter, I read into his comments as Malzone and Morris were therefore neck and neck for the back up role. I wish Morris nothing but the best but damn man. Junior year and getting potentially beat out by a true freshman for the backup role. Gotta be rough. The other thing I read into it is that Morris may be the king of the practice drills and 7 on 7s, but just so far doesn't put it together when it's a live game.

Fuck I'm a pessimist. I can't help but think how many of these coaches are gone next year. It's like I just got an ice cream and all I can think about is soon I will have eaten it all and will just have memories of how good ice cream was.

life itself.

Well, if they leave because we have a great season, so be it. Cost of doing well. Harbaugh can put together another great staff.

It's not likely any of these coaches will have shown what they can really do with this team, this year. Assuming they do well, it's going to take longer than that. Maybe in 3-4 years you can start to worry about Harbaugh and some of his assistants bolting, but not quite yet.

You must be fun to hang out with. Something good happens and all you can think about is how something bad might happen?
Then Harbaugh will hire new guys. I don't think it will be that hard to convince talented coaching minds to work for him.
Rudock is most likely just a better, more accurate and polished QB. It is what it is.
Lol, so much for a post about Mattison!
Who still has fire in his belly, thats awesome. I can't believe there's no Swag Mattison picture yet
