I may very well be biased, but I think that might be one of the better Sunday Conversation segments yet done. One of the best things about Harbaugh really is that the things that might seem absurd to others....well, that's who he is. It is simply who he is. It is one of the things that makes any segment like that he does wildly entertaining most of the time.

Harbaugh has to be one of the more unique, intriguing figures in sports. Doesn't look like he really enjoys the interview. Gives short, direct answers, and then silence. Not the easiest to interview. I'd really like to see what Oprah, Barbara Walters or Charlie Rose could do.

I wouldn't write off the in depth interview. He admires people of excellence, the best at what they do (remember how he watched the traffic cop for an hour?). So if Oprah came calling, I think he'd be tempted. If he could sit down for 10 min with Maisel, cant imagine it being hard to talk with Walters for 30.

This as one of the ones where he seemed a bit uncomfortable. Stiff formal interview. Compare that with his Rich Eisen interview a few days ago and it was night and day. I do think he's got a mild case or high functioning Aspergers Syndrome. A lot of "genius" types at the top of their craft are like that. One telltale sign is the wearing nearly the same outfit every day. Einstein, Steve Jobs, etc all had similar qualities. We're just lucky that two of his three passions (football, Michigan and Catholicism) happen to be directly relevant to our interests too.

I'm a retired educator and have another retired educator friend, and we've discussed this since his hiring.  We both feel that he is indeed somewhere on the spectrum.  We as a fanbase are fortunate he has the passion for football (specifically Michigan football) that he has.

I imagine Harbaugh has a rare ability to concentrate and focus. He defines monomaniacal. While he is stiff, awkward and seems to miss some social cues like people with Aspergers, he still seems to be able to connect with others, in a way which I don't imagine Aspie's doing. Thats why I find him intriguing. Doesn't seem to fit any particular mold.

He is so unique and it's easy to see why he comes off as genuine when recruiting and coaching. It's easy to see why he doesn't care for splitting up walk ons vs scholarship guys. He just loves the team concept of living together, eating together, competing together with no politics involved.

I love the "I'd play as long as I can, then coach, then die. That's it." line at the end of the video. We are lucky to have Coach Harbaugh.

I love that he said it twice, without humor and in earnest: "play, coach, and die." I'm sorta flummoxed by all the attention to the uniform silliness and then a gem like that flies under the radar. It's not quite "the team" x3, but it's pretty fucking great.

Jim did pretty well here. Entertaining on my Sunday night. Now that I think of it, when I hear a good rap song now days, all I do is tap my foot too. LOL
