It's funny because at first you can see in Harbaugh's expression that he's asking himself "Who the fuck is this guy" and thinking "Oh hell, if he's press I got to act like I give a shit about the questions he's asking". But then something remarkable happens, and he actually gives pretty good, honest answers to the lame questions he's being asked. The whole thing is awkward though, but of course it is because it's TMZ.

Since one of the placards behind him points to the Library of Congress, but no matter.

Love how he handles the paparazzi in-stride - doesn't want to bash the Niners or say something that may be construed as violating recruiting rules.

Seems like Sarah is clearly annoyed though.

Harbaugh is in the underground network of hallways that connects the U.S. Capitol to the Library of Congress, the House office buildings, and the Senate office buildings. (The State of the Union is held in the House chamber in the U.S. Capitol; the House and Senate office buildings are separate structures from the actual Capitol).

Seemed odd that they were walking with Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, a fairly liberal Democrat, when it was Congressman Justin Amash, probably as non-liberal as you can imagine, that supplied the tickets to the speech.  Then again Ann Arbor is in Dingell's district..

Yeah, it was pretty clear he was just telling this jagoff from TMZ what he wanted to hear. Harbaugh knows the score.

Harbaugh is most likely the coolest person in the world, but being married to him has to be difficult.

Guarantee Sarah can hack it with the boys. I bet she's the type of woman who prefers a glass of vino, but can throw down some PBRs when the guys are over.

I will say, Harbaugh is very professional, and knows his stuff. Obviously, it is wise to steer completely clear of anything with San Francisco. That's a cesspool it is better to avoid wading into.

And as regards Nordin, he did a great job of slightly acknowledging, while stating clearly that it is a violation of rules to discuss any particular recruits publicly.

Is it normal for a TMZ "reporter" to just walk and up start hammering questions without prompt? That seemed awful, I'm annoyed I gave them ad revenue to watch that.

i get the sense this "reporter" had no idea who Harbaugh was 10 minutes beforehand and googled him on his phone to prep for the interview. ("Hmm . . . used to coach the 49ers, and is recruiting a kicker. OK, got all I need.")
