landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
It will actually happen before Saturday. I promised the young man I wouldn't say anything about his position, class, or location.
So they're male...
You might as well tell us the rest, Coach.
Bet he looks like a 12 year old girl.
What about his name? First and last letter?
Early or later in the week? Can you say anything about his talent? Will this bring on huge excitement by the board?
Do you really think he will answer if the kid is talented or not?
Nope. Kid is garbage, but Michigan has to take him cause Hoke is terrible and Borges is terrible and Funk is terrible and since DB didn't fire them all and himself after Akron, we are stuck with them until we die. Woe is Michigan fandom.
/s, for the handful of people I'm sure will need to be told.
Could his position be offensive coordinator?
comments like this one are why the old voting system needs to come back. bravo, sir. +1
Exactly my reaction upon seeing this thread. Please let it be an OC.
is a fabulous idea
Gotta worry about transfers first. I've already heard of a couple who will likely not be at Michigan next year.
No need to mention names, what positions and/or class are involved?
Go ahead and focus your eyes upon the defensive backfield and linebacker corps at a couple of true sophomores not on the travel squad, and you'd probably have a good idea.
I'm not saying we should run anyone off. but if I'm not worried about losing second year players who aren't traveling. If they choose to leave, that is a couple more recruits we can bring in.
He is probably referring to the new Ace Williams joke article that came out, where he got "INSIDE INFO" from a backup player and directly quotes him saying how Hoke has lost control of the team and was nearly crying..
And that all the players think they will only win 3 games next year lol..
is it a new offensive coordinator?
What did you do JimBob? Why the massive neg points?
Too many snarky threads about snowflakes, etc.
I've had a tempoary ban or two in my day (strecthes arms wide)
it's like an upscale gulag
Possibly the linking of an Ace Williams article, and actually believing it.
A tight end
I hope I'm correct so I don't look like an idiot jumping the gun. (Yes that should instill confidence) I have not been able to confirm but I saw it on another board. If I'm wrong, shame on me.
I'm looking as well and have not found much. I know I had previously not heard of him. I'm build credibility as I speak.
False alarm on my part based off everything I see. Yes I'm an idiot for jumping the gun. Neg away
I love the "I know something but I can't tell you" thing. It's almost like you don't do anything at all.
A pretty succinct explanation of why these recruiting gurus are recruiting gurus.
Do you ever shut the fuck up
That is his time to thrive.
Oh he mad on the internet.
Tell me what I've done. Did your new recruiting info not come through?
Was this valuable info somehow constrained by what I've typed here?
I understand that sentiment but I figured I'd put the commit watch on at least. The recruit told me that I could do that much but he didn't want me to reveal anything else.
If I said nothing then it happened, I'd get "Where were you on that one?" type of stuff. Posting stuff on this board really is almost lose-lose to people nowadays. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Pretty sad.
The board, with lack of user moderation and current crap on-field offensive product, has become a den of snark and negativity.
Thanks for posting this information and respecting the recruits wishes.
So much to be positive about.
I know what's going to happen this Saturday but I can't tell you.
I guess I'll just have to show up in Ann Arbor, go to my section, sit the four quarters and find out then.
I am rather positive about the defensive development and scheme, FWIW. Mattison knows what he is doing (though it's hard to pull it off when your players are on the field that much and have to be depended upon to score, apparently).
I'm hoping it's you shutting the fuck up.
How does one find this famous "fuck" that everyone is always hoping others will go and shut in an upwards way?
Part of the reason I don't post on here as much anymore. Too many tools and immature kids on here.
That's a cool way to do it. RESPECT.
Yet here you are (a) reading, and (b) posting. I didn't write this. Just an illusion.
The non-idiots here have your back. As somebody who is constantly starving for information, I'd rather have more than less.
If you were to violate this kid's wishes today, it's less likely that you would get the next scoop, so keep doing what you're doing.
AMEN on that retort Brandon...
You can't let it bother you; you have to develop a tough hide.
Once you accept the fact that MGoBlog is like "Lord of the Flies"—but with a pack of starving, snarling wild dogs instead of children—you'll be better off.
I can tell you that Michigan will receive a commitment sometime in the next month or two. I can't tell you what position, what class, or the name, but there will likely be a commitment.
Am I a recruiting analyst yet?
You have to tweet kids who play football and Facebook them and get love from the board for doing what is considered creepy if done by anyone else. Oh and if you find anything out you can't tell anyone. You've gotta play it smooth, brother.
Oh, who cares? It's an internet message board. Don't get your panties in a wad about a guy who's employed part-time to report these things. From my brief scan, there's literally nobody complaining about this except you.
DaShawn Hand...wait...too soon?
It's totally gonna happen, guys.
Stefon Diggs, Josh Garnett, or E.J. Levenberry
Terrel Pryor or Dee Hart?
Yuri Wright? Josh Garnett? Alex Kozan?
I think the commit is Coach Brown.
Is it a 2014 or 2015 guy? Couldn't be a 2016 kid, could it?
been waiting for Hand to announce
Coach Brown, thank you for your work. I figure I might as well thank you so in the sea of smart ass remarks, there is a ray of appreciation.
That sure is a refreshing approach.
echoing the thanks... appreciate the preview info & looking forward to the Welcome post
Beebs, yeah man everyone does appreciate your work. I'm sure you can understand that a lot of M fans have a lot of pent up frustration oozing out of their pours right now, but your posts do help shift the attention toward the future where good old "hope" is always there to soothe us in our current state of misery, especially going into this Saturday.
Ditto. I honestly have no idea why people have been so hard on you.. Thanks for the info. A lot of us actually do appreciate it, the asshats are just always the ones who yell the loudest.
The critics on this site are here more than the rest of us.
But I, for one, am grateful for the free content you deliver, and I am looking forward to welcoming another Michigan Man this week.
I torn. Would it be better to start a "Brandon Brown appreciation" thread or a "You are Brandon Brown and a bunch of idiots complain about you not giving them free info, what do you do?" thread?
Why is it that when TomVH says buckle up, he is praised... but BB gets hammered by the same morons (maybe?) when he says basically the same thing?
Personally, I like looking forward to it. I definitely like it better than announcement dates by a known recruit, which seem rarely go Michigan's way.
Either Sterling Jenkins or Erik Swenson
I appreciate the info. It takes time to build the relationships needed to get all the juicy recruiting tidbits.
Thanks for your update. You have done a awesome job giving us info on recuiting
Thanks for your update. You have done a awesome job giving us info on recuiting
This is positive news that is appreciated.
I enjoy hearing positive news. Thanks Brandon.
To those who have nothing good to say in a thread about recruiting, I have a simple question: why the hell do you subject yourselves to the agony of reading a thread so offensive to you?
Well, if there is a commitment to be had next weekend, hopefully it isn't the only good news to come out of that weekend. The odds of anything more than a recruiting victory many not be great, but it is a reminder that the program does indeed go on and that the future does indeed continue to take shape.
At this point, MGoBlog could stand some good news, given the recent metrics on mood.
Tomvh says no.
Could it be Mike Weber? I saw on Tremendous and TomVH RT his tweet that he was ready to commit but he was just waiting on his dad.
Thank you! This is great news. All your hard work is appreciated.
Could we please have some a swing or two from the banhammer? Please?
I think what's supposed to happen after something like this is said, is a discussion about who it might be. Not bitching about the work of someone employed by the blog. Don't like it, get your information somewhere else. Would you rather he spoiled (possibly) the biggest moment of a young man's life?
Yes, they would.
Thanks, Brandon for the work you put in. Looking forward to something good coming out of this weekend...
The guys with all the negativity and ad hominem attacks are a bunch of pussies... And yes, I understand that's ironic...
My guess (or hope) is Weber, McDowell or Westphall realized how amazing M really is
Weber has been visiting MSU a lot lately, McDowell is planning to take officials, and Westphal is no longer an option, from what I understand.
Coach Brown, any additional info you can provide on this pending commitment?
Good news if it is Swenson. I think they need to take several OL guys in the 2016 class. I'd like to see them add 1-2 in the 2015 class if they have the room.
Sterling Jenkins Jr
Those would be my two guesses.
I think it's one of two guys:
1. Hjalte Froholdt
2. Erik Swenson
Both studs who will be a great addition. That being said, hope development will improve here at Michigan or it will not matter who comes.
Thanks Brandon. Much appreciated.
With Al Borges crawling on burning coals, is recruiting for more offense to finish the class of 2014 going to be limited to only four-star or five-star candidates who suddenly indicate high interest in Michigan or some lesser rated candidates who have had their offers rescinded from some of the better Big Ten programs or some of the top-ranked football programs?
Even with some anticipated attrition from transfers and fourth year players who will not be offered a scholarship for a fifth year, if Michigan misses out on all of its highly rated recruits for 2014, would it be better to save scholarships for the class of 2015 or graduates from some of the top-rated academic schools who might have an extra year of NCAA eligibility?
Will the impact of this disappointing season, as well as competition from Rutgers* and Maryland for top-rated recruits in their home areas, be that Michigan will have to rely on sleepers in order to fill the class of 2014?
* I know that WR Adonis Jennings, S Kiy Hester and CB Lamont Simmons have decommitted from Rutgers.
Are always positive news. Its someone we really really wanted to come to our program who accepted. . Its really weird to me that people can find such negativity in it.
Its also weird that some are calling for a gentleman's agreement (trust) to be broken in the name of spreading gossip. That yells "poor home training" to me.....
Just be patient...give it time.
I apologize for your comming to the board in a season like this. Not that the internet will ever be rid of idiots, but their prevalence here has suffocated the normal informative repartee.
