Coach B Gets 700 Wins
Thank you Coach B on bringing our program back. And finding the right staff when it wasn't working to potential early. Congrats on win 700!
(List of coaches over 600 wins here if curious, some data appears a bit stale - anyhow you get the idea! This article's factual accuracy may be compromised due to out-of-date information. Please update this article to reflect recent events or newly available information. (December 2013))
Yeah, it's crazy how you don't hear anything about Beilein joining the 'elite club' of 700+ winners. They were making a deal out of it when Bo Ryan was at 699.
They did mention at the beginning of the broadcast today that he had 699 wins.
Boom! I forgot about that this was right around the corner. I figured the first round win would get it when I was counting on UM winning the B1G tourney...
Thanks Coach.
When you pay too much for cable, you get frustrated. When you get frustrated, you take it onto the court. When you take it onto the court, you foul the other team's center, Jordan Morgan. When you foul Jordan Morgan, he makes his FTs. When he makes his FTs, you back off on defense. When you back off on defense, Michigan hits everything. And when Michigan hits everything, your coach gets fired for an embarassing performance.
Don't have your coach fired for an embarassing performance.

We need to bring back the underrated upvote for this post alone.
too much for cable.....
I upvoted you on another thread for the same post. But it's good enough for multiple upvotes.
One trick pony.

Coach B. You are da Man.
I've never found an error on Wikipedia. Ever. ;)
I think it's a bit outdated and not updated. Anyhow it gives you an idea - many coaches ahead of Coach B are not active so he is going to be moving into a small club in a few years.
Wikipedia says 700 (well 698, but that hasn't been updated yet). And that's all that really matters.
That list isn't counting his 75 wins at Erie C.C., which isn't an NCAA or NAIA school. The number still seems off—the total before this year (not counting Erie C.C.) should have been 598.
Regardless, this was the 700th overall win of his coaching career.
I have my doubts they would count his wins as coach at a community college.
Edit: And by my count without Erie CC JB has 623, before Wiki updates his wins this season for the tourney.
Below are the top 15 winningest active coaches—heading into the 2013-14 season—from the official NCAA record book. This includes only wins at four-year U.S. colleges, so it reflects all of Beilein's wins prior to this season, except for the ones at Erie C.C.
598 + 75 + 27 wins this season = 700.
Congrats @JohnBeilein on your 700th win! #GoBlue pic.twitter.com/LbvYenFvc7

3 more good years and Coach B is headed to rarified air, top 25 all time

Might have two subs? Who know how crazy he'll get.
Congrats, Coach. pic.twitter.com/rvvdes6Dfn

I want John Beilein cloned and put in charge of every team I cheer for in every sport.
Congrats Coach B. Now someone get him a Mapquest back to the hotel this time. Its not as warm out as it was yesterday.
They weren't but neither was Bo Ryan. He got 353 of his wins at Wisconsin-Platteville.

He has gotten more assertive recently, since you mention it. See the recent tech's.
One thing I noticed today is that after every big shot Beilein gives a single hard clap in celebration. I think I'm going to start doing this whenever something good happens in daily life.
disapproves of such strong displays of emotion.
First and foremost, congratulations to John Beilein on another career milestone reached.
Even on that list from Wikipedia that the OP posted, there are some select names indeed from college hoops history (and present in several cases as well), and it is great to see your coach in that sort of company. Hopefully, he's around in Ann Arbor long enough to start reaching for the likes of Coach K and Boeheim in terms of total wins before he retires, but he's already an elite company.
have some subs!
And then had Nuss address the team after his 10 minute lecture to the team.
and many more. He is getting players he likes and who want to learn. I think he is having a lot of fun. I'm hoping he will be around for a long time. The epitome of class, dignity and integrity.
Coach B is the greatest coach in the history of Michigan athletics. What this man has done is nothing short of remarkable. Winning games, bringing us back to elite status, conference and tournament success, getting the most out of hearlded recruits and under the radar guys, putting guys in the NBA, and being just an all around great guy! He better get a statute when he hangs 'em up!
