He said he went back and looked at old SF and Stanford video because of Harbaugh, Florida video because of Durkin, USC video because of Baxter . . . and on and on.

Impressive.

Really important game for Utah.  Lot of detractors of Utah as member of the PAC-12 conference.

They have a brutal schedule too this year. A third straight win over Michigan would be outstanding for them.

huge game for both squads.  id argue its more important for michigan than utah.

whittingham has been underrated for years (at least in the media), hes a sharp coach who almost always fields sound, competitive teams.  if harbaugh did not materialize and certain successful coaches / coordinators were oddly not considered due to slight ethical questions, whittingham wouldve been a solid hire if michigan wanted to go that route.

When he started talking about Florida tape for the defense, USC for Special Teams, Stanford and the 49ers for Harbaugh, Michigan for personnell...  oh, and Iowa to see Rudock.  And after all of that they don't really know what they are going to see when it all gets mashed together...

Awesome.  Can't wait.  Go Blue!

"Just like us with injuries. I felt like we should keep that in house. Why tip your oppenent if you don't have to?"

As much as people in the media clammer over coaches not giving full answers, I agree with Whittingham and Hoke's stance from last year that there's no point of saying injury-related news in pressers. Only hurts your team as the only benefit is letting fans know four to five days before the next game.

Impressive....he looks like a FB Coach and is a very good communicator. I can see why the teams he puts out are so sound and are a tough out..Utah will be a very, very solid team and a serious challenge for this UM team.

Bringing it full circle to the Les Miles talk earlier in the board...talk about a tough decision he made a decade ago (from wiki):

The 2004 season ended with Utah becoming the first non-BCS conference team to make a BCS bowl game, the Fiesta Bowl. After winning the Fiesta Bowl, the Utes' overall record improved to 12–0. After the 2004 season, the Utes lost junior starting quarterback Alex Smith to the NFL and head coach Urban Meyer who left to the University of Florida. After the regular season, and before the Fiesta Bowl, Whittingham was offered the head coaching job at Utah and also the head coaching job at his alma mater, Brigham Young University. After struggling with the decision for four days he chose the Utes.[4]

Noteworthy quote:

"The key is in-game adjustments. After the second or third series, you get a feel for what they're wanting to do and you make adjustments.  You can't wait until half time."

No secret I thought this is who UM should of went after as their coach if Coach JH hadn't taken the job.  He obviously pays attention to details and gets the absolute most out of his players.
