Clinton Dix Still Keeping his options open

Submitted by mmiicchhiiggaann on

Nothing gamebreaking at this point, but I figured anything positive at this point was worth it. Dix is keeping his options open because you never know what can happen. Interesting that Karlos Williams (FSU commit) is his best friend. Talk about a dream to somehow get both of them up here. Nice article about all our Dr. Phillips hopefuls.

Sorry to say so.  Sam Webb even came out 2 weeks ago and said that HCD is very likely going to Bama.

I mean, if our optimistic posts are now saying that a recruit hasn't crossed us off their list yet and remain soft commits to others school, then we're close to rock bottom.

With the huge impact that being able to play early has on a recruit's decision-making, I'm wondering how much they think about being able to play early but for a crappy defense.  I'm worried that all of the defensive recruits that are "holding out" on deciding are going to be turned off watching Michigan "play" defense.  Maybe playing early on this defense is actually a con and not a pro?

Despite our "early playing time" rating being an A+, HSD's pitch interest is only Average. He is Very High on "television exposure," Very High on "championship contender," and Most for "pro potential." We match up nicely to TV exposure with an A+, we're meh with championship contender at C+, and pretty good with pro potential with an A.

If Alabama wants to keep him from us, they need to compare their A+ championship contender rating to ours every week.

Blast.

I think it's been made abundantly clear by the 2010 UM defense that expecting freshmen to make a significant, positive impact is fools gold.

Pine all you want for next year's recruiting class.  Just understand that they will only reap benefits 2 years from then, minimum.  That is, if they don't transfer first.  But, don't worry.  This coaching staff has a strong history of players not transferring.

As long as RR is staying this should be a real attractive situation for top defensive prospects.  Pretty much guaranteed to start day 1 on a team that you know can score a lot.

What defensive recruit would want to come to a team that has had a coach on the hot seat for three straight year?  A team that has had 3 DCs in 4 years and will likely have a 4th next year?  A team that has seen a rash of transfers, and that can't seem to field a defense that can stop a 1-AA team?
