1st OP title was "Clemons goes down!". Thus my poorly executed Toney Clemons reference. I'll accept my neg and move on.

Clemson had ZERO first down runs the whole game and tried to run it on 4th and 1 late in the game.
You can guess what happened after that...

Agreed.
But Clemson in Arizona is a much better matchup than Washington in Arizona.

What people don't realize is now we're #2 and Washington is #3.
- Washington is way better than Clemson
- Now the game is going to be in Arizona - so we're playing Washington on the west coast

It's a twenty one hour drive from Seattle to Glendale.

Washington will be familiar with the ocean in Glendale.
November 12th, 2016 at 7:52 PM ^
The same Washington team that struggles to sell out their home games, despite having a pre-season top 10 ranking and current #4? You expect them to travel like mad?

It takes about a day to acclimate, and it's easier going west than east. We'd be fine . . . If.

any further Clemson/Louisville loss wipes out the ACC as a conference with a non-champion contender.
But we're just gonna win out and enter Larry Culpepper's tournament through the front door. On second thought, it might end up helping Ohio State should Washington falter and one of Clemson/Louisville lose another game.

They'll still be #4...but I'd rather play them than Washington.
Let Washington play Bama.
...so now I'm rooting for every team that plays Bama and every team that plays Washington.
Either we need to be #1 or Washington needs to lose.

I think Michigan deserves it, but it would be tough to overcome a late season loss.
Time will tell.

I agree AS LONG AS SEC ONLY SENDS ONE TEAM TO CFP.
And that will only happen if Alabama wins SEC championship as well as remains undefeated in regular season.
November 12th, 2016 at 7:51 PM ^
w/ Auburn losing today and there's no way Florida is going to make the CFP.
Should Florida beat Bama in the SEC champ game, a one-loss Bama will replace Florida as the SEC representative. And rightly so, IME.
November 12th, 2016 at 7:52 PM ^
Even if Bama loses, who would be the second team? There is no second team. SEC is garbage.
November 12th, 2016 at 7:57 PM ^
Auburn showed themselves to be pretenders today, hot streak or no. UGa is sorry this year, so that is a BAD loss.
$EC's got nothing after Bama.
November 12th, 2016 at 7:54 PM ^
Even if Alabama loses, they'll still be the only SEC team in the playoff. Everyone else has 3 losses except A&M, and their 2nd loss was to a team with a losing record.

Clemson/Louisville as non-champion contenders for CFP. Now we just need one of them to lose again, and Washington to stumble. As long as we get to OSU undefeated, in that scenario, I think we're in. But more likely, we'll beat OSU and OSU would still get in.
