Does anyone have any news on the extent of his injury?

From the stands it looked like he first left the game b/c his shoe came off. After that it looked like he was perfectly healthy - he was standing on the sideline w/ no medical people around - and just got benched.

later they are going to have to give him or floyd safety help on every play and just let DW lock up man to man. kind of like what they did in 97. IU's QB wouldn't even look at DW's side of the field on about 90% of the passing plays.

when it really comes down to it, I hate all cornerbacks. they all suck. very rarely is there an honest to god stellar corner.

D Warren is not stellar. he's serviceable. ugh.

my most hated position group.

I would really like to see Justin Turner out there. I honestly thought he would have the second-most impact of any true freshman, second only to Forcier. There's still plenty of season left.

Yea, Cissoko's play has been a bit eratic (thats a bit mild and PC right?) this year, but I thought it was still a downgrade when Floyd came in. I thought Floyd really struggled, and doesn't seem to have the physical abilities and movement that Cissoko has (though of course he has the height advantage).

and is stressed out in the game ( leading to even more bad decisions).

Give him time, once he breaks out of the funk, he will be serviceable. It is not like the B10 is chock full of Calvin Johnson's. If he fixes his mental issues , he will be decent.

I wouldn't be too hard on JT Floyd either. It is amazing how much faster you can run when you are not so nervous that you constantly feel like puking. He will be a good but probably not great corner by his Junior year.

I thought he was sufferring from third degree burns from the ND game.

Seriously though, I was hoping it was an injury keeping him out because otherwise it is simply that he isn't out performing Floyd which is not good news IME. We need Turner to get up to speed ASAP.

RR is just sending him a message about his play. Yes, he did hurt his shoulder and I'm sure is a little nicked up in other areas, but thats contact sports for ya. He was removed from the game because he is not playing to his potential for some reason. I like the move personally.

I think the key to the defense is getting pressure up front. That makes up for a lot of our other deficiencies. Imagine if Woodley, Branch, and Watson were still here. They would make things easier for the CBs and LBs by 10 fold.

I played corner in HS and the guy does not seem to execute basic corner fundamentals - 3-step drop, look at hips not face when assessing route, etc. All these things you learn early on and I just don't see that from him. His coverage reactions are very late. One of the only plays where his coverage was excellent was on the pass interference that was called against him on the EMU game. Position wise, playing corner can be extremely humbling as we can see - when you are burned, everyone knows. But damn, you have to at least execute the skills the position demands in order to have a chance at mitigating negative plays against you.

is a 19 year old true sophmore. I think we would all agree that we want him to succeed. Therefore, the last thing he needs is fans riding his as* for not performing. He is probably doing his best right now. Let's root for him to do well and support the heck out of him. It is in the best interest of all UM nation.

/burning jokes, please

He's been bad, but I have faith he will turn it around. The kid is a heck of an athlete and looked great last year. Someone mentioned earlier...whoever is across from Warren this year will get picked on and once he works a little more on technique, I think he will be fine, just my E.

I see the potential in him. He's got the athleticism... he just needs to bring up the skill to go with it. I hope, for his sake, he gets it quick before one of the Freshmen overtakes him.

problem might be that he played in the Detroit PSL. Now I don't claim to know anything, but I've heard the coaching in this area is sub-par compared to other major cites like Dallas, Cleveland, Miami, ect. I wonder how good some of those freak athletes that come out of Detroit would be if some of the West side coaches were over there.
