Just how big is the staff?  When you add up the coaches, trainers, docs, and waterboys does it really reach 50?

That said - classy move by Hoke and I'm glad to see it happen.

I am a huge Colts fan living in Indy and all the support he is getting is fantastic. We all wish him a speedy recovery, and it's people like coach Hoke that really show how to be a leader. On a side note, my wife asked me on Saturday why Michigan wasn't wearing any pink for breast cancer awareness, and I had no answer. What's up with no pink for our team?

Please do not get into the mindset that since it's October every team and every person must somehow involve pink in their lives or they're a horrible person.  It's not mandatory.  In fact, if you look at someone or something and wonder "where's the pink?" then the pink has already done its job and isn't necessary.

I don't support this pink thing. I've lost close family members to breast cancer and my mom had a scare a few years ago (thankfully, a false alarm). I fully support the search for a cure and help for those suffering. However, the organization behind the pink label only donates 15% of their take for actual research. The rest is spent on marketing, litigation and other wasteful activities. There are some really good organizations that raise funds and donate nearly 100% of their take. I fully support promoting them.

Komen is definitely not a good organization to support, but pink doesn't automatically mean the money is going to Komen. The NFL is wearing pink this month and that money is going to the American Cancer Society. I'm not sure where Purdue is donating money, but hopefully it's not Komen.

This is great to see.  Especially with Mattison and Pagano's tenure in Baltimore together.  Its great to know that when it comes down to it coaches stick up for each otehr!

Thank you End-Around for pulling in a connection. While this is certainly a classy move regardless, I was wondering if there was a connection between Hoke and/or UofM coaching staff and Pagano. Does anyone know of any other connection or is this the main impetus?

Cynical maybe, but let's hope he cleared this with Adidas before it gets shot down.  I could see them hawking over a lost weeks exposure, no matter the cause.  Not saying I agree with them.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hoke et al at Michigan have done more, but just not as publicly.

Regarding t-shirts or polos, it doesn't matter. What the Michigan coaching staff wear won't diminish or raise my view of Hoke. And it seems ridiculous to have to follow a non-T-Shirt dress code, as regards a good cause like this.
