Nik posted a video wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, while doing what he does best: shooting 3's.
the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection
The town he's from is south of Toronto, so it really shouldn't be too far out of the norm.
Also, that's getting into a discussion which belongs on the MGoBoard.

Whoosh.
USING GRATUITOUS AMOUNTS OF CAPS LOCK SINCE APRIL 2011
He ends up going 45/50 on the video. 90% is an great free throw percentage for a college player, but a guy able to shoot 90% from 3 is a truly special player.

Without being guarded what percentage do most 3-point specialists make? 90% seems amazing- but I honestly have no idea what most great NCAA/NBA 3-point guys would shoot unguarded practicing...
Only 5 misses, pretty impressive.
I wonder why he never shoots from the left hand side of the driveway?

Stauskus is legendary.

Sweet setup in the backyard. Cause or effect?

I was never D1 material but I shot 56% in high school and most of that was from downtown. What he just did was amazing. I couldn't dream of shooting 90% from deep in any practice. Holy crap! His in game three point percentage now seems low.....
Hail to the Victors!
That's sort of how I felt watching this - Stauskas is tenth on the Top 100 list in FBS right now for three-point percentage at 55.7% (34-61), but this video was remarkable and made me ask, "Only 55.7?" for a moment. Such shooting range and ability definitely makes for an excellent gift for the Wolverines.

As he gets more comfortable in college his three point percentage might be 70 percent.

I've thought about that as well. However, I think his percentages will go down as he becomes more comfortable. I think he has the ability to shoot off the dribble, off of screens, and with a hand in his face ... so as he becomes more comfortable he'll take lower percentage shot attempts. I guess I'm thinking he'll end up being more like a Reddick/Diebler type, as opposed to the primarily spot up shooter he is now. As opposed to the Matt Roth / Jordy Hulls type.
sharpshooter some day. The guy is amazing.

Wettin 3's, for real. His quick release in games is what really amazes me, keep it up but please don't get anymore technicals!

That's a sick set up for a backyard basketball court. MTV Cribs - Canada Edition.
That was ridiculous. At first I was thinking, "OK, but this isn't exactly game speed and no one is guarding him." Then after a minute I realized he was shooting like 90%. I think I counted 6 misses, maybe it was five. Guarded or not, game speed or not, that is insane! Such a sweet stroke.
"He has no idea that Charles Woodson can jump fifteen feet in the air, come down acrobatically, and get his foot inside this football field. Folks, you can watch football a long, long time before you see another play like that."
Wow. The kid under the hoop doesn't exactly have to chase rebounds all over tarnation.
Not SIAP ... I'm pretty sure I saw this sometime in the last year, but (IMO) it's worth another look:

"500 channels and nothing but cats."
If he was in an NBA 3 point contest, who would beat him right now? Guarded, unguarded, whatever! Most of those shots hit nothing but net!
I sure do wish that guy was on my team. WAIT HE IS HAHAHAHA /faint
So I'm pretty sure that Stauskas is one of the few guys I'm okay with insta-chucking.
Avatar is a reference to this. Go Blue!
He must have been so embarrassed when he missed.
stauskas is one of my favorite frosh. I love his game, spunk, and is a true gamer. He will only get better.
his misses were only ever so slightly off, causing rim outs rather than hitting the back heel or front iron creating long rebounds.
how quickly and confidently he launched the next bomb after each miss.
Raindrops!
In 1994, I had a chance to shoot around with Dennis Scott in a gym in Grand Rapids. Scott was a NBA veteran that had once been the 4th pick in the draft. He was not an All-Star but was a perennial 3-point threat for the Magic for quite some time. 3-D was about 26 at the time.
Rebounding for Dennis Scott that day looked almost exactly like how the rebounding went for the other kid in Nik's video. An effortless shooter that makes nearly everything, except here we are talking about a college freshman. If Nik can get to where the other aspects of his game are solid, he's going to make a lot of money with that pretty stroke.
I know - cool story, bro.

His dunking!

Amazing. Not only does he make 90% but hardly any of his shots even touch the rim. Truly a fun player to watch.
I am puzzled at why the non-evegreen trees in the background haven't lost their leaves yet though. I have no idea why I noticed, but I would think this time a year in Canada...
Ok, I'll say it. It wasn't that impressive.
I can safely say I can hit 40/50 unguarded on average. Some rounds a couple higher, some rounds a couple lower. Really, if you were a good shooter (good, not just above average) in high school, I would expect around 40 out of 50. Maybe 38-39.
Plus, who knows how many rounds he shot before keeping the good one.
Not trying to be debbie downer here, but if you play a lot of basketball and are a shooter, this just isn't crazy impressive. What is impressive is his ability to hit with a hand coming at him.
Put a hand in my face and I fall down to 20 max. Maybe 15 if it is truly under pressure and only when I'm toeing the line.

Usually don't see rain like that in Canada this time of year.
