hopefully we can sway this guy from the bad guys. We need to start landing guys of his caliber on defense on a more consistent basis.

A friend of mine who follows OSU religiously says that OSU followers are taking it for granted that he will go to M. He apparently grew up a really big fan and visits the campus/Ann Arbor on his own time. I'm getting that 3rd hand, so take it for what it's worth...OSU people see him as another Craig Heyward talent-wise.
October 17th, 2010 at 9:04 PM ^
must be talking to the same peeps as you are because he essentially has said the same thing. He has even come to some early games as a fan "non visit official or other wise to take in the game with his GF who is also a fan".
Pls others on the board correct me if I'm wrong but, he may be rated the number one recruit in Ohio come his senior year. SO I suspect tOSU will come after him hard and will have other serious suitors also.

Ohio has a ton of talent in the 2012 class. If he's not No. 1, it will be because he's behind other 5 star guys...I can only imagine that you are correct that OSU (and others) will not give up easily.
October 17th, 2010 at 9:32 PM ^
There are a bunch of 4/5 star DE prospects in Ohio next year (Greg McMullen, Adolphus Washington, Sevon Pittman, Wormley, perhaps others). OSU can't take them all, so it could be a good opportunity for Michigan to get some premier defensive talent.
October 17th, 2010 at 8:59 PM ^
I thought it was Cameron Heyward?
October 17th, 2010 at 9:01 PM ^
you sir, are correct.
October 17th, 2010 at 9:03 PM ^
Yes, Cameron Heyward. Craig was of course his dad, the NFL running back.

With the amount of talent coming out of Ohio in 2012, I'll take whatever we can get, especially if that talent is compared to an All-Big Ten DE at a conference leading school.
October 17th, 2010 at 10:13 PM ^
opened it up According to recruiting sites not to be named Ohio has lower number of schoolies for 2012, but the state has an unusually high (even for Ohio) number of highly regarded prospects comming out. I look forward to Mich "feasting gorging" on all of that talent.
October 17th, 2010 at 9:33 PM ^
for posting something that wasn't about the last two games or the coaches.
On the other hand it is about the coaches since they are looking to improve this team through recruiting. Let's look forward to how great we will be.

I'll take nothing for granted. Hope M is the best situation for you and you attend here Chris.
October 17th, 2010 at 9:51 PM ^
It's taken quite some time. Here's to hoping he ends it soon, go blue Chris! Highlights!

Bill Kurelic names him the number 1 player in Ohio for 2012!
A shameless plug for the blog that I used to update before my job promotion! (Note- It pretty much sums up his recruitment thus far)

No doubt, he would be the get of the 2012 class. We've been recruiting DE pretty well lately.
October 18th, 2010 at 10:05 AM ^
James Ross is equally important.
October 17th, 2010 at 10:14 PM ^
What? I thought we offered Wormley a long time ago. I mean, the kid straight up told a reporter "yeah, I'll prolly end up at Michigan.". This kid is a top 50 national recruit, OSU has been on him hardcore, and now we're just offering him? This staff is more incompetent than I thought.
October 17th, 2010 at 10:47 PM ^
Yeah, incompitent like a fox.

it might have something more to do with say, following NCAA rules about recruiting HS juniors.
October 18th, 2010 at 6:29 AM ^
OSU probably offered him illegally (before allowed), but what's another self reported secondary violation to them. With the team currently being under the watchful eye of the NCAA we couldn't afford to do the same thing.
That's what gets me about the NCAA, something that gives you a recruiting advantage and thus a competitive advantage is minor, but having a QC person help with stretching is major.

I know he is many classes ahead but Koger went to Whitmer. Hope he can help with the recruiting.

The OP's former avatar was from Meddle (which is why I selected Animals for mine). Looks like he switched.

Growing up a M fan, is certainly going to help along with our DE depth.
