To be fair, I don't know that Jim Tomsula thinks anything is a big deal anyway. He probably took his own canning about as seriously as he took his notorious presser fart, with that look which is a cross between "what, me worry?" and merely being somewhat on the dim side.

As for the topic at hand, good for FOX Sports and ESPN coverage is going to be even  less interesting than it already manages to be now.

Speilman is my preferred commentator for any game except the UM vs OSU game.

Love the guy but his homerism is horrible.  You just don't notice it because the average score of 'The Game' has been 30-17 in favor of OSU over the last 10 years.  If you want to hear his bias get your hands on a broadcast of the 2011 OSU game and watch OSU's last offensive series. Speilman's silence at the end of that game says all you need to know.

I'm curious how this is all going to work out for Fox. They are bleeding money just as bad, if not worse than ESPN, and they are throwing out money left and right and locking themselves into a bunch of expensive long-term deals.

To me, it seems like ESPN has seen the writing on the cord-cutting wall and is spending prudently, while Fox is acting and spending like its 2010.

OSU guy, Speilman, leaves ESPN to go to Fox and Michigan guy, Woodson, joins ESPN, simultaneously making each organization better. Sounds about right.

Wow. ESPN college football coverage has taken a huge hit. The McDonough and Spielman team was the best along with Nessler and Blackledge. McDonough to MNF, Spielman to FOX and Nessler to CBS. Fowler and Herbie are good. Herbie is great, Fowler is okay, I'd prefer him and Rece Davis to switch roles. Now, who are the best teams? Mike Patrick was good but as evident in his slip ups in the Citrus Bowl, that it may be time for himself to retire. Tessitore is good but he's on SEC now I believe. They need to bring him back, and maybe Musburger too.

If not, you'll begin to hear the likes of Beth Mowins and Brock Huard doing big games. Thank God for the mute button

And it wasn't just what he did, it was why he did it. He did it to fuck Michigan and fuck Les. You think he would have reported that rumor if it involved OSU? Hell no he wouldn't have. And yeah, having Harbaugh is great, but we went through a river of shit to get here. I'd rather have not been miserable from 2008-2014.

You guys think ESPN doesn't have money??? Do you know who owns ESPN?

Both of these networks have TONS of money. ESPN just happens to be doing much better than Fox. While ESPN has allowed a lot of talent to walk when their contract ended this is not about cutting ties. Fox on the other hand had to cut huge amounts of their staff and cancel shows.

What FOX is doing is very stange but remember all the people at Fox making the decisions used to work for ESPN.
