i thought I saw a photo of him, and he had this massive tattoo on his right arm....   don't know how well that would sit with the traditional folk..... its one thing when the players have them, but to the old school guys, quite another when the coaches have them.  I couldnt care less, btw.

a coach for supposedly poaching a few players from a couple of the other Catholic school powers? NJ is a pretty big state.

Rutgers backed off because they regularly recruit players from those rival coaches. Presumably they heard complaints directly from them. No doubt, some were also jealous of his being a position coach at Rutgers.

There's not a lot of similarities between that and his having a non-coaching job here. He might help bring in Gary or other Paramus kids. Who was the last player we got from another NJ school? There isn't much for us to lose.

but that's cool. I notice we disagree on a lot but I've always kind if liked the ability to debate politely here (for those that do). I'll second the remark made by the other poster on that NJ is actually very small. You have a few schools that produce much talent of which our new staff member was once a part of & then a small state that I would say is par or below Michigan in producing HS talent. In that group of programs that supply so much for the very small state, he is universally disliked by every HS outside of PC & for reason. Again, the admit I may be looking too much into it (I'm really not that concerned) but if this was a move to get our foot (if not leg) into just one of those power schools I have to question if it is worth the potential harm it could cause recruiting the others. Just a point or. possibility. Discussion piece that I welcome you to engage in as, again, we disagree a lot (I've noticed) but I respect that you're usually genuine about it. I respect that.

even if we often disagree. NJ has about 9 million people. I don't consider that small, especially in the context of one HS coach. There are a few strong programs that compete with Paramus. We neve get any of their players as it is. I don't see there's much potential for harm. You're right that there's not a ton a talent there. Getting one top player is better than our normal expectations.

Population is a good point & we've rarely hit the other power schools there anyway. Again, it may have no problems at all. Plus, at worst we have set up a full blown fortified camp inside PCHS. We have their old coach & their new coach played under Harbaugh so I think it's safe to say that we'll do well there in the future. We'll at least have great interest in the yearly talent that one school produces.

I really hate that this guy keeps getting cited when all he does is rip stuff off of other premium message boards and posts it on Twitter.

This particular tidbit he stole from Scout as it was posted there over 2 hours ago.

But yes, seems like this is true and will help with Rashan Gary.

  • Elite coaching staff
  • NFL-level S&C staff
  • Support staff that now includes a guy with strong East Coast ties in addition to the DoPP that we already have that has done great in Chris Singletary
  • This guy is our Director of Ops-

At this rate even the Team Nutritionist is going to be elite.

Football has and always will be about which team dominates the trenches on both sides of the ball. Harbaugh understands this, and will load up on OL and DL recruits. Mr Gary, come on down.

Forgive me if I am mixing stories, but wasn't his Rutgers job offer yanked for fear he has pissed off NJ HS coaches? That can't help recruiting (if true).

Yes that is the guy.  There is a bit of hyperbole on the thread.  Let me know the next time a recruit commits to a school because the equivalent of Dwight Schrute was hired.  He is not even the recruiting coordinator (let me know the next time a recruit commits due to Chris Singletary being the RC) - he is the assistant to the assistant of Chris Singletary from what it sounds like.

I would actually be WORRIED if he was recruiting NJ for us as an assistant coach based on the reptuation that preceded him and the fact Rutgers which knows better than anyone about the NJ marketplace got rid of him so quickly.

It might help for a short while (2 classes) for guys at his specific HS - maybe - but that's about it.

The thing is, the Rutgers AD is a prime candidate for George Costanza's "opposite" theory right now. I mean, their track record - especially with regard to decision making by execs in the AD - is at Brandon levels.. So if Rutgers passed on him, I'm thinking that we should be like George, and whatever Rutgers does,  just do the exact opposite.
