Chris Howard
was a key part of the 97 NC team, even though the defense somewhat overshadowed the O. I remember Brian Griese was VERY good at hitting him in stride out of the backfield, and Howard picking up some key yardage, 1st downs, etc. Tough, hard-nosed runner between the tackles with just enough speed to hit the edge.
We had a few 'unsung heroes' on that team, and IMO Chris Howard was one. Chris Floyd another.

Were terrific blockers as well. To my untrained eye it seemed like they did so many things well to help the team win.
