"The University of Illinois is also in turmoil. The university sports an Interim Chancellor, an Interim Athletic Director, and an Interim Football Coach; the game will be played at Soldier Field, making this an Illini Interim Home Game."
Chris Fowler on Sparty fan behavior
They wouldn't have to deal with it up there!
The fans started throwing things because Corso started taunting them. Not that it justifies the behavior, but Corso honest to goodness started taunting the students.
Since then, they put up a net. Years later they came back to MSU for a game between Notre Dame and they chanted Corso Sucks. A few years later for a PSU/MSU game they started saying some nasty things about Corso's daughter.
Chris Fowler gave the crowd the "come on man" look and strangely enough it stopped.
Chris Fowler means business.
he chose Michigan to win and the crowd went apeshit. Corso did nothing wrong
Herbie’s a Buckeye, so I’ll allow it.
Thanks, Judge Mills Lane
I can go with that.
be ashamed for supporting this type of behavior! The guy missed!
My one regret: not having enough MGoPoints to give you more.
Yeah, but he is also co-workers and facebook friends with Desmond Howard.
Nothing is more concrete then a facebook friendship no doubt!
that among all the couches they burn up there every couple of years
Save the couches- beat MSU
they'll still burn them if they lose though
Burn East Lansing!
Queme los sofas.
actually, the toledo game is one of a few games i completely blame RR for the loss. had he stuck with threet, UM wins easily. instead, he puts in sheridan who was awful. and we lose by 3. that loss was worse than App St. but thats just my opinion.
i also blame him for utah, which any blind guy could see that sheridan was not good. i really don't know what could be going on in practice. but threet would have won that utah game had he started.
i also blame RR for both bad purdue losses. i won't go into detail, but it's my opinion.
no worries though, i've been one of the biggest RR supporters since day 1; sighting success at every stop. and it will happen at UM.
Go Blue!!! Beat Sparty!!!
I think you might be lost...
I think he's a time traveller.
umchicago: The year is 2010. You've completely skipped the offseason and the first 5 weeks of the season. Some interesting things have happened since you left on your journey.
"... i won't go into detail, but it's my opinion ..."
Spoken like a true MLiver.

Is a worse loss than app state you're an idiot and here's your sign.
Seriously half retarded no half is too generous. Full on retard
Not that i agree with much of what he says, but that toledo loss in '08 was definitely worse than the Appy loss in 07, so i have to disagree with your response.
If that 07 Appy St team plays the 08 Toledo team, my bet is the 07 Appy State team wins by 35 points.
That team had a lot of good athletes at the skill positions. They were basically a poor man's oregon of that year, and they gave Oregon the blueprint on how to rout us with top end D1 talent, not that a blueprint was needed based on the past performance of our D against spreat teams at the time.
People who think Appy State was a horrible team and "one of the worst losses of all time in college football" really don't know what they're talking about.
It was not a game we should have lost, but more importantly, it was not a game we should have scheduled.
I don't think any reasonable person would disagree that '07 App State was far better than '08 Toledo . . . but '07 Michigan was also light years better than '08 Michigan. Losing to Toledo just meant that a crap season turned a little crappier. Losing to App State meant that a possible championship season turned into a nationwide humilation.
Don't eat the brown acid!
I don't think Threet would have been much help after the injury.
Threet was godawful against Toledo. the 104 yard pick six he threw was an unecessary, forced into a crowd kind of throw. Now that we see what RR wants QBs to do, it is easy to see how depressed he must have been with the Threet/Sheridan combo.
And in case you forgot, that Utah team that barely beat us finished the season kicking the snot out of Alabama in the Sugar Bowl....so coming as close to beating them as anyone all year........well you have a funny way of showing your support.
Go fuck yourself East Lansing
Tell us how you really feel.
It doesn't help to keep it all inside...
He was only a sophomore, so he hadn't mastered the skills in his beer-bottle throwing major yet. A senior most certainly would have jacked Herbie up.
Well maybe only a junior. By senior year they advance to beating up engineering students in dorms.
C'mon, it's not like the Gameday crew didn't deserve it.
Nice to know his most memorable "game moment" happened on the set of Gameday. Not, you know, on the field during the game. (Idk, maybe when Woodson made one of the most jaw-dropping plays in the history of the game? Hmmm? Ring a bell?)
At least they got smart since then and put up a screen to protect themselves, Blues Brothers style.
was so much more likeable in the 90's, before he fell in love, y'know, with himself. I'd have certainly defended him in that situation, but I guess on that day I was too busy blabbering like an idiot about the greatest interception I'd ever seen.
And with all due respect to Braylon, LaMarr, or even Mike Hart... I've never been as impressed with the athleticism of a player as I was with Woodson UNTIL THIS YEAR.
and he has grown up to be putz. But he looks good.
Herbstreit was much more likeable lying motionless on the Michigan Stadium turf.
can be SO immature
The last time I was at a Game Day set they know have nets to protect them. I wonder if this was a result of Sparty?
From Sparty fans..........anything resembling a riot is ok with them.
Herbstreit later got pegged by a marshmallow at the Big House. And somebody got him with a beer can at LSU.
There is no chance in hell that sparty fans are worse than Penn State fans.
I submit this as proof
but to be honest, when I realized it was an OSU fan, I smiled a little...
