Chris Evans Appreciation Thread
Kinda random, but I feel like it's necessary to give a shoutout to Chris Evans, who's our best running back (statistically) through 7 weeks. After taking a look, our RB numbers are as follows:
Evans: 48 attempts, 400 yards, 3TDs, 8.3avg; 4 receptions, 28 yards, 0TDs, 7.0avg
Higdon: 35 attempts, 259 yards, 5TDs, 7.4avg; No receiving stats
Smith: 61 attempts, 336 yards, 2TDs, 5.5avg; 10 receptions, 21 yards, 0TDs, 2.1avg
Isaac: 53 attempts, 291 yards, 4TDs (career high), 5.5avg; 1 reception, 21 yards, 0TDs, 21.0avg
The good thing is all of our RB numbers are looking pretty healthy, but thus far Evans has been able to churn out more production with less touches. As a true freshman he's exceeded my expectations personally, and it's worth noting that we haven't even scratched the surface with what he can do as a receiver. I expect his skills to be in full bloom entering The Game. It's good to know we're in good good hands when it comes to coaching and player personnel now, and in the future. Here's to continuing our road to the playoffs! (Knock on wood)

according to 24/7, you're off on the yards and average.
October 17th, 2016 at 1:04 PM ^
...I am on.
October 17th, 2016 at 2:21 PM ^
I'll stick with 247 since that's what i used for everyone else. Thanks though

...include all of the running backs in your post from the get go next time :) !
October 17th, 2016 at 8:49 PM ^
You are example #1 of why people want to increase the necessary mgopoints to make a thread.
October 18th, 2016 at 9:56 AM ^
...better posts, less snark may be a good formula for you.
October 18th, 2016 at 10:26 AM ^
I'll take note lmao. We can keep this going all week.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:30 PM ^
That was my first thought. I feel like Higdon has looked as good as anyone thus far

I knew i was forgetting someone, updated the post

This kid has been a pleasent surprise this season. I am looking forward to see what he will do in the years to come with a Wall of an offensive line. Should be fun to watch.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:14 PM ^
Would also love to see him get more touches in the passing/screen game to get him into space. Seems like he's going to be a special player. Excited to see what Harbaugh can do with all of these options.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:14 PM ^
Evans is almost as exciting to watch as Peppers with the ball in his hand. He is so wiggly and slippery and those are the best, grossest adjectives to describe his game with.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:17 PM ^
worst description of his game, partly because it makes no sense when describing his game.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:22 PM ^
Moist is kind of the trump card of descriptions.

Moist Trump
October 17th, 2016 at 1:00 PM ^
I don't care where you fall on the political spectrum, Hillary's moist leakage is way worse sounding than Trump's.
October 17th, 2016 at 1:50 PM ^
Oh wow. Talk about a dimmed reflection in the mirror.
Wait ... Not sure this is going to convey the message I want it to. It's gross, that's my message.

some football porn
October 17th, 2016 at 1:57 PM ^
No. Those are adjectives better used to describe a clit and pussy. Elusive might better describe Evans, along with all the pussy you have unsuccessfully chased.
October 17th, 2016 at 3:25 PM ^
You would describe a lot of the women you have been with as 'wiggly'?
October 17th, 2016 at 12:15 PM ^
It doesn't do much more than run fast but yay!
October 17th, 2016 at 12:16 PM ^
Chris Evans is Captain America. FACT
October 17th, 2016 at 3:08 PM ^
Also, formerly The Human Torch.
Most current Human Torch?
Michael Jordan. Coincidence?

I'm glad we held off the Buckeyes at the end (though I think they were recruiting him on defense).

Super hot fire

His running style is so natural and easy, with great balance and gliding strides. I've only seen film of this guy, but Evans reminds me of...
October 17th, 2016 at 12:29 PM ^
probably our #1 returner once Peppers leaves
October 17th, 2016 at 12:30 PM ^
It's pretty much a given that Evans is the starter in 2017, right?
October 17th, 2016 at 12:36 PM ^
Karan Higdon
35 253 7.2 44 5
Evans, Higdon, Ty and all of the kids next year (maybe a 6th year Drake too) will be the best RB group in the B1G. Better and deeper than Ohio too.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:54 PM ^
Don't forget about Kareem and Najee... right?
October 17th, 2016 at 2:23 PM ^
I might cry. That kid is the truth.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:39 PM ^
While Evans has been a pleasant surprise for a freshman player, 265 of those 400 came against Hawai'i and Rutgers.
He didn't get a carry against Penn St. (56 yards, his next best day) until we were up 28-3.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:44 PM ^
I think he's the best of our RB's when he gets into space, but in a game like Wisconsin where you need to break tackles and run inside and push the pile, he's still probably a year in the weight room from being ready. But once's he's ready he could be really really good.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:42 PM ^
very pleased with both Evans and Higdon (the first two RBs recruited by Harbaugh)
October 17th, 2016 at 12:44 PM ^
He's our most efficient scoring back at 42 points / 21 yards = 2 points / yard!
October 17th, 2016 at 2:02 PM ^
A great example of why statistics are irrelevant. He is money in the bank, though, at the goal line. The Lions need him desperately.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:49 PM ^
then afterburner...he's got the vision. I think he has helped the other RBs with their vision as well.
October 17th, 2016 at 12:57 PM ^
Is our best back.
October 17th, 2016 at 2:00 PM ^
Agreed. Great combination of power and speed. He can hit it up the middle for good yardage or break to the outside for chunk yardage.
October 17th, 2016 at 2:29 PM ^
I enjoy that there is a fairly large crowd that believes this. I think our offense would be best if we just split the carries between Karan and Evans
October 17th, 2016 at 3:43 PM ^
They're my favorite two to watch, but you don't think Ty Isaac deserves some carries? He's been so solid this year. Looked to be the most effective runner by far vs. Wisconsin's stout D.
October 18th, 2016 at 1:22 AM ^
I just think narrowing it down does a lot more with rhythm. I would have smith before Isaac if a 3rd back would get carries
October 17th, 2016 at 5:34 PM ^
I'll take them all. Ty Isaac is going to destroy OSU this year running that wildcat option attack with Jabril. I do think Evans will run all over MSU though. That Dline is one of the worst in the conference. We'll open huge holes that day.

They cannot stop the run consistently, and I think they are going to struggle again this weekend at Maryland, a team that runs the ball quite well. Can't wait to watch them melt down again if they lose.
October 17th, 2016 at 8:26 PM ^
Agreed. He is going to be fantastic.
