The "moon" was a motion picture stage in Burbank California and the event was ordered by President Johnson to sell more Tang beverage because Johnson held majority stock shares in the company. Ever wonder why they "launched" from Cape Canaveral Florida? Because Florida has the oranges, man, and they wanted the consumer to think "oranges" when shopping so they would buy a lot of Tang.

I used to get a lot of ' tang except, like, that also didn't actually happen.

I talked to Chris Clark today (via Twitter DM) and he said he is still committed to Michigan. He is going to wait 1-2 weeks and see how the coaching/AD situation plays out. He is taking it day by day! That is a smart decision by him. Go blue

Can we rent Al Borges for a week?

I'm only half joking.

This is the kind of thing he was good at, where you could tell him "quit fucking around, Al, and just go out there and win the game", and he could focus on play-calling for one game only, with no philosophy or grand strategy to worry about.

I agree.  I said Stitt specifically because there is a fairly large following of people who support him, but my overall point is that one of the things we will completely lose if we hire a lesser known guy is recruiting prowess.  We haven't been good in ages, and if we take a shot on a small time coach, it will be hard to bring recruits in, no matter how good he may be.

I don't think Hoke does much coaching of QBs, or at all.  But that is irrelevant in this conversation.  The current QB coaching has not returned good results, and has seen our QB play regress over the last 3 years.  Nuss/Borges/whomever won't be here next year, and we will hopefully have someone who knows how to coach QBs (i.e. Harbaugh).

how good of a QB Morris is or isn't.  Judging by what we've seen from the coaches in running the offense and working with Devin Gardner, it's impossible to tell whether Morris can be a top college QB or not.  I'm pretty sure that a coach like Harbaugh or other offensive-minded coaches out there could create an offense that Morris or Speight can co well in.

Its looking increasingly like a lot of the coaching problems are a result of a bad fit between Gardner and his QB coaches.  Gardner is talented and his QB coaches have been good, but Gardner is not the kind of player Nuss is good at developing.  Gardner is high risk/high reward and Nuss tried to make him an efficiency machine, which resulted in the worst possible combination - high risk/low reward.  In retrospect, Borges might have actually done a lot with Gardner, Gallon and that crap offensive line by frequently going for 'the big one.'  Nuss tries to go for small chunks to sustain drives and Gardner just makes too many mistakes for that approach.  Nuss might have known this at the outset of the season and the QB controversy was real because of this problem.  I feel really bad for Gardner - probably the most gutsy and loyal of all the guys who fought through the last few years.

Hoke is the one who couldn't/can't see that the line has stunk and the only decent one he had was his first year.  These quarterbacks have been beat to hell for 3 straight years.  Running backs too.

So, how does he fix the problem?  He fires his OC instead of the line coach.  New OC same problems.

Emotionally Devin, and to a lesser degree Shane, are shattered.  I remember watching it in the NFL back when I watched Sunday football.  Jim Everett had probably the happiest feet from getting crushed week after week.

Water under the bridge now.  Next coach will have LOTS of work to do.

142 favorites - i.e. there are actually 142 people who not only follow high school kids on Twitter, they follow ones who are committed to rival schools. No wonder you were aware of this tweet, Dennis! Are you one of the 142, or did you find out via one of your brahs on RCMB?

Sure, good money is on him decommitting at some point, but all he's saying is we've hit rock bottom. Which is what anyone who has watched this team this year have also concluded

Its time to change your perspective. Here's a reframing for you: "The high ranked recruits we used to get, we used to do nothing with." None of these recruits will be playing for the current coaching staff at Michigan. The past and present is not the future.

its going to matter for the future of the program - we have developed some of our talent and we will develop it better in the future.  A lot of our elite talent (by recruiting star standards) is on the sidelines - Peppers, Green, Pipkins, etc.  Most of the 4/5 stars are still too young to tell anyways.  That is not an excuse for losing at home to Maryland, but it is a good indicator that these players probably get better under the new coaches.  I would prefer not to deal with a gaping hole in talent like the last coaching transition created.
