Shit, if I had talent and was 17 again, I'd commit to Harbaugh.  I'm 35 and will still run through a wall, not that Harbaugh cares.

So we could get Darrin back, Clark back, and bring in Iman Marshall? Marshall and Peppers in that backfield together for a few years with Jourdan Lewis is a crazy thought. That was be a fantastic secondary.

I would not expect a top-10 class with Harbaugh over the next month, but man oh man, Ace had better be ready to write a whole lot of Hello posts. I have a feeling we'd get a few guys we would've never even been in the running for without the likes of Harbaugh.

An impressionable young man made choice based on some negativity surrounding the program and lack of a head coach.   As long as academically he fits, why not welcome him?   Having read many of the posts on here, many fans were thinking of jumping ship, especially if a head coach they didn't like we're to be hired.  So cut the young man some slack.  Go Blue!

Then why isn't Harvard a National Power? (Most of) these kids don't care about the value of a degree. And they shouldn't. They're trying to find the best way to put themselves on a platform to make millions at the next level.

Come on. As a proud alumnus and Ann Arbor native, I like to think the degree is the most important thing to come from my four years. But it's not where you go, but what you do when you get there.

It's just a semi-valuable piece of paper. Depending on what frame you put it in.

If was Jimmy I probably would not let those who Decommitted come back! Sorry Chris Clark!

But in my opinion they should of been committed to Michigan Football and that degree and had faith/trust.

Your character has been exposed if you Decommitted and want to come back.

People like Alex and Brian Cole deserve major props for sticking with Michigan!!! True Michigan Men and character that will show on game day.

You're thinking about it how you feel as a diehard Michigan fan. These 17 and 18 year old kids all have dreams of playing in the NFL one day and want to find the best path to making that happen. There's a reason successful teams keep recruiting great players. I don't blame a kid at all for seeing the chaos and the losing that's happened recently and end up choosing a new school.

I get - I appreciate your post.

I don't blame them either but if they're dream was to play Michigan they had a shot to do that. The team, the team, the team! When Bo said that my personal opinion part of that means be there at lows and highs...together the team will get through it.

I don't disagree with your comments good points of course.

But now that Jimmy is coming kids will want back on board. What if it was a different coach like a Mullen.
Would He come then?

These are 17-year-old kids making an entirely reasonable decision based on what they need to do for their future. You and I may love Michigan with all our hearts, but it's not fair to expect these young athletes -- most of whom have worked most their lives at the goal of playing collegiate football in a program they are comfortable with and confident in -- to put that future in jeopardy when they have other options that, even if somewhat less desirable than Michigan at the time they gave an initial verbal commitment, appear to be much safer options given the information (or the lack thereof) that they have.

Please don't be that guy who tries to take some sanctimonious moral high ground over decisions that are intensely personal and probably very difficult for them to have to make.

I do agree with you and understand.

I am not trying to cause drama on the post or negativity.

Maybe I am wrong...but even look at Hoke. He even had the recruiting rule of you decommit or take visits your gone.

That's because he wanted young men who wanted to be here and also use as a tactic to not be pulled away from another school.

Just sayin- I appreciate the post you had.

I know you're not trying to create drama, and I don't think you have a malicious intent with your posts, so no worries. It's a difference in perspective among people who care about Michigan.

I think it's a great thing to want students who dream of playing for Michigan, so you and I are in agreement there. There's nothing better than a Malzone-type recruit who grew up a Michigan fan from the beginning and will give anything to play in the winged helmet. But where you and I diverged is whether it's fair to expect that of all recruits, many of whom only began to have any meaningful relationship with the school when they received a call from a coach at Michigan (whether Hoke or someone else) who told them that the existing staff would love to coach them and be a mentor to them during their four years in college. When these recruits see all those people who they developed those close bonds with get sent packing, it could be very hard to feel comfortable gambling their future on the chance that they have a similar level of comfort with whichever new staff comes in in the month before signing day. Meanwhile, other schools that they also had good relationships are filling up their classes, and they're going to be the ones left with very limited options if they wait until January to see who Michigan manages to get and end up not feeling comfortable with that coach.

You mentioned Hoke's policy, but it's important to note that he kept that policy because a commit's verbal commitment caused Michigan to rely on that commitment and focus its recruiting efforts on areas of need. It would be to Michigan's detriment if they could not have some level of assurance that they did not need to be recruiting additional players to replace specific guys already in their class. But this is a very different situation, not least of which because schools know that a coaching change inevitably causes a big shift in the recruiting class. The fact that the coaches have told players that they can look around now (in spite of Hoke's prior policy) should be all the evidence we need of that.

I'm torn on this but I think I give young kids the benefit of the doubt. They stuck around for quite a while through the mess. I can't say I would've made a different decision. I don't like to give people multiple chances but I'd imagine it had to be really hard for them to give up their dream of playing at Michigan. Realizing that dream may give them a different appreciation of what they almost lost out on. When I think of it that way I kind of want them to have it--they may never look at life the same way knowing what they almost lost.

Let me get this straight, you are holding a grudge against kids for bailing on the coach less tire fire of a program we have become? Who knows if the new coach may would really want them when they get hired. We are lucky to have gotten their commitment in the first place. I will welcome any recruit Harbaugh goes after.

I think UM should also look at Cali kids, kids who have seen Harbaugh's work at Stanford and in San Fran.

Go for KLS, Rosen, Travis Waller if they wanted another QB. Offer every 5* in Cali.

LOL more than Cali kids have seen his work.  Stanford was 12-1 in his last year and the NFL - as best as I can tell - shows San Fran games outside Cal borders.  In fact over a billion people have seen his work.  He was in a Super Bowl.

Harbaugh immediately goes to co-1A with Saban as the top of the food chain in terms of on tip of tongue of every recruit.  With Hoke he sold Michigan.  With Harbaugh he can sell Michigan and everything Harbaugh has done.  Its a potent combo.

All that said recruiting has not been an issue at UM; development has.  But for the first time in a while we have a coach who is going to demand top notch results in development and if the position coaches dont live up to his demands, they will be gone.

This is going to be a hectic 6 weeks but the 2016 class I expect we'll start seeing top 5 classes fill in.

The Michigan arrogance that so many people hate us for. He's a kid and if he wants to come back then there shouldn't be an issue if Harbaugh and his staff wants him
