First bit of positive news since the Kiffin hire. Hopefully, this can help some with Baxter.
Chow staying at UCLA
coaching related USC thread on this blog for a while.
Also - OT, fyi.
Just curious? Seeing as it is about CFB and USC who Michigan is going head to head on with two big recruits?
Good to see the dream coaching team not coming together as planned.
And it's not OT.
This is excellent and on-topc news for Michigan. Chow staying at UCLA increases the odds of offensive decommits. Monte is a top coordinator with NFL achievements, so I doubt we're luring defensive players away, but looks like open season on the offense.
info. I was under the mistaken impression that he had already signed on.
This is definitely NOT "OT". OT is what is your favorite seinfeld episode (unless it had a reference to UM).
The possibility of Chow coming to USC with Kiffen was pretty much the most positive thing coming out of the LA media/fans. It's hard not to feel good that it looks like it's going to fall through.
to Norm Chow.
is going to be a pain in the ass to Lane Kiffin for a number of years.
I like to think that Norm boiled it down to "Would I rather coach for Lane Kiffin or coach against Lane Kiffin?" Obviously the latter being much more gratifying, he chose to stay at UCLA.
Honestly, the prospect of having Monte Kiffin and Norm Chow on the same coaching staff kinda excited me, even though I currently hate two coaches on that very same staff with every bone in my body.
I like his loyalty, but should Kiff and USC really be scared of Chow? It's not like the UCLA offense has been relevant.
but bringing him in would have certainly helped the USC offense and recruiting.
They could have recruited on the fact that everything is pretty close to as it was (or maybe even better in some cases- see Monte Kiffin.)
