Chengelis: Harbaugh makes big push for Weber
Angelique Chengelis has a brief article up tonight at the News entitled Harbaugh making a big push for Mike Weber, Wilcher says. There isn't much new in the article. The one thing I find interesting is that Wilcher, a former Michigan RB, is no longer making predictions on where Weber will end up. Previously, Wilcher thought Weber was going to OSU. Chengelis writes:
Cass Tech coach Thomas Wilcher said Wednesday he doesn't know where Weber stands on his football future right now.
"Harbaugh has been calling Weber since he got here," Wilcher said.
EDIT: They are following this very closely over at Eleven Warriors. Reading through the comments, they are all over the place (We want him. We have other backs who are better anyway. He wants to go to Michigan. His heart is at OSU but Harbaugh won't leave him alone.)
Eleven Warriors LINK: Weber signs with UofM?
My two cents: Weber himself doesn't know which way to go. Neither school is jumping out to him in a clear and undeniable way. Both schools have pros and cons. He will choose with his gut and maybe those closest to him on Feb. 4. No way to know which way that will be.

didn't you learn anything in DARE?

Looking from the outside it seems like he doesn't want to flip flop again but Harbaugh is pretty convincing. I doubt we hear anything concrete about him until NSD.

This seems like your classic "we get back in it but then come up short at the end" recruitment but you never know with the Harbaugh effect. The fact that we've made such a dent in the Marshall thing and Weber thing in 2 weeks bodes well for the future classes even if they go to USC and Ohio.

There must be some reason he leans toward Columbus. Anyone with a clue?

Darth Vader: There is no conflict.
Luke: You couldn't bring yourself to kill me before and I don't believe you'll destroy me now.
Darth Vader: You underestimate the power of the Dark Side. If you will not fight, then you will meet your destiny. Good= U of M Dark side oSU

Can't blame the kid for choosing OSU, especially after their OL line parted the seas for Zeek to plow through. With Cardale arguably the #1 QB next year, and the way that they relied heavily on the run with him at the helm (partly due to his noob status), you'd be hard pressed to find a better offense to commit to. Not to mention they are the freaking champs no less. (I just threw up a little after typing that last sentence.)

But don't you think Herman leaving could have some bearing on his thought process?
Not to mention that Harbaugh can swing his NFL pedigree on to the table and just let it sit.
Who knows, though. I wear Maize and Blue colored glasses.... and a Harbaugh shirt.

If Weber ends up signing with Michigan the osu fans will quickly say it doesn't matter because they will have 3 of the top 5 rbs in 2106 class.
Osu fans think they are going to get Walker, McCall and Hill next year.

They have 3 top 5 RBs in the 2016 class!
I'd say the same thing if I were them.
They just won a national championship, it's not like their program is riding on one player. Especially when they've already got more on the way.

Other than locking Weber in a broom closet on NSD and faxing his LOI to Michigan, I'm not sure what else Wilcher could do at this point.
January 29th, 2015 at 8:19 AM ^
The best players in Michigan go to Michigan.

I have a good vibe about this.
He's like all those Michigan recruits we've had in the past that said all the right things and said Michigan was the place for them . . . but still kept looking around and would not lock in their committments. There was just something holding them back.
Of course, they wound up somewhere else.
Time for Karma to reverse the phenomenon.

has him 48% to OSU, 26% to MSU, and only 20% to Michigan!?!?!
Where does MSU fit into all of this? I haven't heard anything about them during his recruitment.
January 29th, 2015 at 8:57 AM ^
They don't. Weber is either a Buckeye or Wolverine next year.
