Check out the below link from an OSU site to maybe feel a little better

Submitted by Victory Collins on

After losing a bet with a friend about Satuday's game, I'm required to wear some sort of scarlet and gray.  My friend sent me this link and upon clicking on it, I almost lost it when I read the first sentence of the product description -- even OSU's own website affiliate selling their own gear do not expect their graduates to have even the minimum amount of success needed to ever work at one of those places that requires one to dress nicely and wear a tie:

You never imagined yourself working at a place with a strict dress code that required you to wear a nice button-up shirt, a well-pressed pair of slacks and a fancy tie, but hey — it’s a job.

the joke is that even buckeyes don't expect their grads to have a job nice enough that merits a necktie.

maybe OP should've blockquoted the excerpt like so:

You never imagined yourself working at a place with a strict dress code that required you to wear a nice button-up shirt, a well-pressed pair of slacks and a fancy tie, but hey — it’s a job

to let people avoid having to click through...

OK, I'm  a little  amused

You never imagined yourself working at a place with a strict dress code that required you to wear a nice button-up shirt, a well-pressed pair of slacks and a fancy tie, but hey — it’s a job. Embrace your workplace along with your esteemed Buckeyes pride when you wear this dapper Cambridge tie! It features an allover woven team logo pattern with team-colored stripes to liven up your day with a boost of Ohio State spirit. It’s also made of 100% silk, so get gussied up for your job and the Buckeyes — there’s no shame in lookin’ snazzy!

You need to edit your post and include in block quotes what others have already. It doesn't make sense without it. However, it is pretty funny with the added quote.

I already feel better anyways.  Great basketball season to look forward to, solid bowl game against an SEC opponent, top-notch recruits coming in, constant upgrading of the facilities.  Good stuff.

They probably should put in some sort of disclaimer about possibly not wearing this particular tie to interview for the job, or for important presentations, evaluations, or several other important events which might arise in the course of that job.

Yep, only those two.  For example, you'll never see a tie on a lawyer (especially in court or at a depo), a doctor, a sales rep, or anyone in upper-management at most companies across the country.

Other people who never wear ties are teachers, coaches, people going to an interview or people going to church.
