Chase Winovich Injury Update

Submitted by RogueRage on
Talked to Chase today in class. He's still in the brace but he lost the crutches. He said the doctors told him that he'll be out for 6-8 weeks because of his knee but he thinks he can be back in 2-3 weeks. Either way it seems like he'll be healthy by the fall, so that's good news.

Good thing MGoBlog is not covered by HIPA.  One important instruction, though -- in season, all injuries are "to the body" and "unsure of how long they'll keep [whomever] out."

HIPAA doesn't cover anything that is volunteered by the individual outside of a healthcare environment.

I'm not sure whether or not HIPPA does.

I'm POSITIVE that HIPA covers information that was volunteered.  Don't mess with HIPA.  They'll get your ass for that.

Actually, one of the nice things about this blog having the reach that it does - both on campus and outside of it - is opportunities for what will have to pass for embedded reporting in the sports blog world. Thanks for the update, OP.

As someone mentioned above, we are actually better at this than the media, it seems.

I'm new here and can't post a thread but I was wondering what the rules are on "embedded reporting" seeing as many posters hear things from players and friends connected to the program.

Does anyone here know what the actual injury is?

MCL sprain is a typical 6-8 week diagnosis

Meniscal Tear (if it was surgically repaired)is the same.

OP, did he mention what the actual injury was?

I also saw one of the players walking by today in a shoulder sling (with the stomach pad) which could be anything from a dislocation (partially of fully) to a rotator cuff (tear or surgical repair)

I also saw Taco Charlton walking around, and besides being blown away by what an absolute monster he is (similar to when I saw Mike Martin) I could tell he had a slightly injured gait (but injury prevention and evaluation is also part of my field)

Let us know OP!

Glad he's going to be healthy by the season. I sprained my MCL before and was told 6-8 weeks but was back in 4.
