Charity Golf Tournament

Submitted by scottmaure on

I've been apart of the mgoblog community for a couple years and I believe I've seen this done before. If I'm wrong I apologize. I have a co worker who has just been diagnosed with his second brain tumor and has not been given long to live. He will leave behind a wife and a 12 yr old daughter. We are organizing a benefit golf tournament and auction in an attempt to raise money for him and his family so that they can cherish every last moment they have together and to also help pay for some of his expenses. I am writing this hoping that someone here can be generous enough and trusting enough to help out in donating to this. We are looking for prizes. Anything can help. If you doubt the validity of this I don't blame you. We have a Facebook group as some evidence to prove this is go real. I probably would too. Feel free to e mail me at [email protected] or [email protected] to discuss further. Like I said earlier. If this is not allowed delete my post. I'll understand.

[Ed-S: don't make a habit of it but offseason plus seems to be good cause /looks the other way]

But it is going to need the subject line reflect the topic of the post a little better.

Good luck.

Is everyone associated with the great cause in Michigan?  I'd be happy to at least ask a few of my favorite golf courses in Arizona to donate foursomes for your auction if you think it would be something people would be interested in.  No guarantees they'd help, but I could give it a shot.

That's terrible to hearespecially the fact that it is terminal. Is there some way to donate money online? I can't do anything in the way of prizes but would gladly give what I can in the form of money if you have a platform for doing that. Good Luck.

I am a watercolorist and would be happy to do a watercolor and mail it out by next week if that wouldn't be to late. I have five paintings to finish by Friday so I really could not do anything sooner. If that works for you just message me an address to send it too.

My company, Take 2 Authentics, does charity silent auctions throughout Michigan.  We do all the framing for Michigan and others, along with these kinds of events.  We were at Griese/Hutchinson/Woodson, for example.

Just emailed both of those addresses with more information.

This is an event in Canada. Not sure any issues that may cause with getting donations over the border. This is getting "thrown" together very quickly as our friend is deteriorating quickly. I appreciate all the offers so far.

Tickets are available to buy. The tournament (18 holes w/ cart), dinner (turkey or roast beef and sides) and the benefit are $60. $12.50 from each ticket sale for all 3 events will go to our friend. Or you can buy tickets for just the dinner ad benefit for $25 or just the benefit for $5.
