Charges being pursued for UM fan who slapped OSU player on Saturday

Submitted by Blueblood2991 on

A fan is said to have slapped or grabbed an Oregon State player as he was going into the tunnel on Saturday.  University police are now working with prosecutors to get authorization for an arrest.

I'm just curious if any of the bloggers witnessed this in person and could share some more details of what happened.

HH Holmes, aka Herman Webster Mudgett, made famous in The Devil in the White City, is also a Michigan grad. He confessed to the murder of more than 100, and estimates go beyond 200. Holmes is both the first and worst serial killers ever in the USA.

So because there was an evil M alum in the past means we shouldn't care if there are evil ones in the future?

(Not that allegedly slapping/grabbing a helmet equates to evil.  Just pointing out the gap in logic.)

Went to Michigan. I'm pretty sure that smacking someone on the head is pretty far down on the list of illegal things they've done. It makes us look bad either way; alum or not I'm assuming he was a fan. But I honestly don't think this is a very big deal. It's not like this sort of asshatery happens on a regular basis.

I don't imagine they'll be able to track that person down, but I really hope they can.  There's simply no place for that kind of thing and it's disappointing as hell it happened in Michigan stadium.

Still not a good situation no matter how you slice it, especially when you consider the amount of alcohol it probably took to get a fan to think slapping an opposing player was a good idea. Probably just the tip of the iceberg.

Lack of consent is never "kind of weak".  There's a big difference between the "violent hitting sport" the player is engaged in on the field during play and his right to walk down the tunnel after the game without being pawed by some asshole fan.

But yeah, whattya expect, a guy dressed like that, just walking down the tunnel - he was just ask'n for it - amirite?

seems like the player was being very intelligent not to strike back, how many times do we critize bigger stronger athlete for kicking the shit out of idiots who start it, in this case he didn't retaliate and should be applauded and yes the dip shit that hit him should either be arrested or allow the player a clean shot with no reprisal.
