I am sorry, but that woman should not be doing sports reporting. As a self-appointed representative of the sports obsessed male pigs in this world a female sports reporter is required to be hot and she just aint cutting it. The crap flowing from her mouth I found rather distasteful also. Go interview some of the Sparty players in the pokey for some interesting stories about soap, sharpened toothbrushes and male bonding.

I think she was reading the story from the teleprompter being operated by some guy wearing a sweatervest sipping a wine cooler.

As far as I can tell, the original poster did nothing but state what he heard on a news program that is known in the Detroit area and could have some credibility. Let's not bash him for doing this; even if we don't like the reported story.

Guess you had to be here from the start of this thread. The OP was obviously watching Channel 4 and saw the report. He then posted here (without any video) and was called out on it. My semi-educated guess is that he then rewound his DVR and captured the video on his iPhone so we could all see for ourselves. My apologies for trying to defend the OP a bit.

I admit I know little about this, but since he has started the semester doesn't he have to wait until next semester to transfer anyway? The only benefit I could see for transfering now (or filing papers) is so that he doesn't lose a year of eligibility -- if he were to get playing time later this year. I am also not sure when the clock for sitting out a year begins -- if this year is burned anyway, he'd be better off waiting things out and seeing what happens during the season.

In the interim, I'll take Tom VH and Mr. Fordier's info over a local newshack (see earlier thread about a national sports web-site that ran a similar story until someone linked Tom VH's interview and they rescinded it)

If it turns out to be true - It is a big loss for Michigan AND Tate. To me it would speak volumes for Tate's personality and indicate that maybe he wasn't a good fit for the team despite the physical gifts and years of training. (Of course it is very easy to sit here on the outside looking in and with 20+ years more perspective on life than Tate)

As an resident of the Phoenix area - I can look in the local paper for a story of a QB with great talent that couldn't put things together in terms of leadership and attitude and ended (to date) in failure -- albeit getting paid many millions for that failure.

It's probably not the end of drop/add period yet, so, feasibly he could withdraw from U of M and enroll at another school immediately if he's granted release.

If this were to happen though, it'd have to be sooner rather than later.

So bascially this probably happens today or tomorrow, or, he'll be here the rest of the season/semester.

Disclaimer: I don't know what UM's academic calendar looks like, so, drop/add period could be over already.

seriously. until someone of importance with actual people besides fictional sources says that Tate is transferring I'll dismiss this as everyone else should as tumor mongering
