Changing avatars
So the maximum file size is 1 kb and max pixel size is 85x85. However, when I resize pics to 85x85, they're like 5 kb. I need to get them down to 15x15 to make them under 1kb. At 15x15, are the pics clear? Does anyone know what their avatars dimensions are?
Also, I've always had trouble changing avatars. The avatar can be deleted, but whenever I try to upload something else, my old one reappears. Has anyone else had this problem?

I had the same issue. My avatar kept changing back and forth for a while before finally stopping on the masterpiece below my name.
I had no luck resizing other pics. FWIW, your avatar is really small and the image isn't discernible.

I still see Brandon Minor on NCAA 10!?
EDIT:When I'm not logged in I can see it. Oh well.

I don't know if anybody's told you, but you've got a REALLY freakin' tiny avatar, dude. Not trying to embarrass you....
I just went to shrink pictures and changed the size of the image. Then access you account and delete the old picture and upload your new one, click save. After doing this refresh your screen and it should be there.

Just make/crop/resize a picture that is (at max) 85px X 85px, @ 72-96 dpi resolution. Make it a jpeg with about 75% quality and you're good to go.

Any of you techies out there know how to clean the coffee spray off my monitor screen?
If that does not scare you off drug use, there is no help for you.

not the same question but.. do i have to host a picture if i want to add it to a post? i cant just copy and paste something i created on paint? how to i get it on this junks?

Either a webspace you control, or a free service such as flickr (which I use).
Most hosting sites have a feature that lets you simply upload your photo, then copy the code to post anywhere else (like MGoBlog for example). very easy, as long as your images are moderately sized.

This is also kind of OT, but is it possible to edit your username? I just want to delete the spaces in mine so the whole name shows up when I post. I've looked everywhere so I'm guessing its not possible.

Problem fixed. Brian worked his magic, even though he is on vacation, in Vegas, making it rain...that man is relentless.

When I changed mine I just gave up. I couldn't get it to work and then about a week later I posted and it had changed. I think there is a glitch.
The old avatar is probably just cached. Try F5 next time.
Re: Pictures, some of that has to do with clearing your cookies. If you change and it doesn't appear to have changed, you can clear your private data/cookies/otherwise and it should show up.
Re: User name, I'm not entirely sure it's possible. As a moderator, I might be able to do that, but I don't want to mess with your account and have it lock you out or otherwise. Also, I don't want people emailing all the time wanting to change stuff.
much like a tattoo. If you are unhappy with what you chose for yourself, tough shit. (BTW this isn't an attack on the OP, just my two cents on changing avatars.)
You click submit, you live with it.

I'm ok with that. I don't want to change my picture of Morgan Freeman eating cotton candy anyway.
Nor would we want you to.
I've changed or modified avatars 7 or 8 times, and it's been easy and problem- free each time.
But with the cap on the skull, it kinda looks like one of our former coaches is dead. And with the flames, in hell. And we all know that's where Woody is.
Maybe if the SKULL was flaming. Michigan Ghost Rider.

Does this system have the capability to auto-shrink the pics to fit? Seems like that would be fairly simple - I don't recall downsizing mine but could have - been a while.

If bikini chick on the beach is your old avatar, we don't think you should worry about changing it.
Sincerely,
