Changes to Big House locker room

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Greg Dooley from MVictors posted some interesting changes from inside Michigan's locker room at The Big House.

The Legends program looks to be done.

Not only did Desmond Morgan not have the patch on his #48 at the Spring Game, but the wood engravings have been removed from the Legend number lockers. The patch and the players who wore the number used to be there.

A Tom Brady tribute has been added to the locker room-

Also a great moments wall has been added.

MSU's recent renovations make their locker rooms marginally better than ours.  Literally every single other football-related facility at UM is vastly superior to MSU's.  Like not even close.  Look at the difference in stadium, weight-room, and practice field quality.  It's hilarious.

That renovation brought the weightroom from the 60s to the 90s. It was poorly executed unless you like old block walls, fluorescent lighting and insanely low ceilings. Why are the ceilings so low? The weightroom is laughable in comparison to our rivals. I apologize I can't post pics on mobile but if you care to google OSU, ND, NEB or MSU weightrooms you will see the obvious. My God raise the ceilings and utilize some natural sunlight at the very least.

So their locker room seemed to have better an more modern lighting than ours, that was about it.  The actual lockers were nothing special.  Certainly nothing like Oregon's.   And half the video was of the Media/Post game interview room which i bet doesn't really hold any appeal to a recruit.  They could care less about it.  And as for the lounge area in the beginning, Michigan basically has a lounge area just as nice as that on BOTH sides of our stadium in the luxury boxes.   Not to mention our indoor facility (which houses a much more impressive locker room that the players spend much of their time in)  is one of the nicest indoor facilitys in football.  Not just college football, but all of football.  Just ask Jameis Winston and Bryce Petty.   So sparty renovated one corner of their dump of a stadium, no i don't think we should worry that recruits are gonna think their facilities are better than ours.

Oosterbaan Field House would be a dream indoor facility for most teams and Michigan doesn't even use it anymore. They have 2 indoor buildings, an outdoor grass field and an outdoor turf field. No one else has that.

You mean the Oosterbaan with the ceiling that was too low to punt and walls that were about ten feet from the sidelines that were a constant danger for players faceplanting into a really bad injury? It was a dream facility when it was built, but now? It's about as dream a facility as an inflatable bubble.

Their stadium is a concrete parking structure dump.   I think that knocks them down quite a bit.

Also the Breslin Center is atrocious compared to Crisler Center.

Having been to probably 4-5 games at Spartan Stadium, that place sucks in comparison to U of M...they need to put in about 3 times the bathrooms. And it still does look like a giant concrete shitter despite the new locker rooms.

I wonder what the latest great moment is they have up on the wall.  The fact that is a serious question and not snark is troubling.  Maybe the 2011 Sugar Bowl.

Winston: "These guys don't know how blessed they are to have this kind of facility. I mean, Florida State, we're a very prestigious school, we have nice stuff, but we don't have this. I'm sorry, I love Florida State. Go 'Noles till the day I die, but they're so much [more] advanced than us."

It's been said on this thread before but I just wanted to reiterate. The locker room that WD has shown is the one that is only used on game days. The locker room that the players use regularly for practice and what not has all of the fancy tv's and electronics. Why the hell would this be needed in a game day locker room. The correct answer is its not.

and play for Jim Harbaugh because he thinks a locker room isn't nice enough doesn't have enough going on upstairs for anyone with a lick of sense to care about in the first place.
