Change in recruit class size allowances? Zonereadstretch?
Zone (or anyone else),
Where are you getting the notion that we can offer 28 but 3 have to not qualify, leaving us with 25? (I.E. only 5 spots left in this class) I've seen you mention it twice in diff posts.
Did I miss something? I believe the "28" you refer to is how many LOI's we can take (regulated by BigTen IIRC), and yes we sign only 25 of that per class. This does not however, affect EE guys. Right?
EE guys would go on last year's class totals, which had room to spare. So in practice we will "sign" more than 25 this year, provided some EE go towards last year' class. I.E. we have more than 5 spots left.

Would someone like Adrian Witty go towards an EE spot or is he considered signed from last years class?
Im confused on that topic--someone care to explain how "EE" works?

If I remember correctly, an EE can apply to either the previous class or the current class. I would think they would put them in the previous class if at all possible to free up space in the current class with expectations of getting another extra recruit.

Webb said EE count toward the current class, not the previous. He cited Michigan coaches as his sources.

Gotcha. The more you know...

I understand now, thanks for your help! Bummer about the rule changes though, would love to have a few extra bodies in this years recruiting class. I do have faith in GERG's recruiting just from looking at last years D class. IME ive been impressed by them and guess what?? NO ATTRITION! ...yet

they can no longer count toward prior year's class - this hurts us in the short term as we try to build up depth and stop attrition, the most we will be able to bring in is 25.
Ultimately this will help the walkons who through attrition will have more scholarships available that will not be used on incoming players because there is no benefit for using them now on the early enrollees.

If they wanted to change rules, wish they'd have enforced stricter over-signing limits, if anything.
