Change of pace--Headed to Crisler tomorrow for PSU

Submitted by sarto1g on

Maybe some of you are gluttons for punishment (like me) and can't get enough of what has transpired, but I thought I might start the offseason by ignoring January 1.  I'm making my first trip to Crisler tomorrow (section 6) and wondered if there was any advice or other fun stuff that you guys might like to fill me in on.  I know it's not probably not going to be a very enthusiastic atmosphere (what with it being PSU and something about a bowl game), but I would like to see our boys get back to .500 in big ten play.

YOu may want to bring a few inflatable friends to fill up the seats near you. That place is going to be dead. The students right now are either drowning their sorrows or making drungen, angry threats to sit out all events till there are changes on the Football team.

In fact, I hate to watch this downward spiral so much, after the half I was done. I couldn't watch that garbage anymore. The worst thing I feel is just apathy and a kind of loss of interest knowing we are just not competitive. I find myself unable to get excited about Michigan Football, because it keeps finding ways to hit new lows. I hope whoever comes in is able to restore the luster this once shiny program has lost. I also wish I could say I genuinely felt DB was the right choice, but if he screws this up it will be awhile before we raise up from the ranks of the average.

Go cheer like hell against PSU, hopefully Beilein and crew will keep their nice run going in the Big 10 season, it has become a welcome distraction. Soak it all up and have fun.

If they win:  Party like mad.  Act as if you've never seen such a dominating performance by a Michigan team in any sport.

If they lose: Join the masses and drink away your sorrow of two defeats in two days.

Moral of the story: Either way, alcohol will help.

I'm going as well.  Hopefully it will be a respectable atmosphere, because we really need this one.  (We had a great crowd for the Purdue game, even with the students gone, but unfortunately they didn't have much to cheer for.)

...three games deal will ensure that the attendance is respectable.  Have a good time rooting the team on to victory against PSU.  They need it and so does the demoralized M fanbase.

Halftime entertainment, per mgoblue.com, will be Hooper & the Flight Crew of the Detroit Pistons. (Perhaps Joe Dumars will be there as well? I didn't spot him at the Purdue game, but the word was he would be attending a game once his son became eligible.)

I expect a close game but one that U-M will be able to pull out. Definitely agree with JM that this is one the team really needs to get back on track.
