I made sure that I was going to be in my hotel room just so I can get to see them lose. There's nothing better to cheer you up than seeing Brian Kelly's face turn purple.

The lighting makes the ND helmets look like they go from gold to Kelly face purple.
Brian Kelly's coaching tonight? Ok then...
....I did not beat Zone Left to the punch here and I can therefore maintain my status among the MGoSerfs without losing eleventy-billion points. LOL.
Actually, I went ND in this one, as much as I hated to do this. I selected that only because of the intangible "ND wouldn't dare let Kelly's head turn purple again" factor.
I don't think FSU has the minerals to play with ND. If ND starts derping (and I think they are more than capable of derping) its a different ball game.
I'm actually quite interested to see what happens with ND and their QB situation. WOTS is that Hendrix may start/see significant playing time. Would be funny to see Kelly on his third starting QB in one season by choice and not injury.
I had a hard time with this one; whereas it is always enjoyable to see ND lose, if they win it boosts not only our strength of schedule this year but also elevates ND's likely position in the polls next year when we play them. Additionally, an Irish win will help fuel some hilarious posts from our favorite ND blogger and have their fanbase in general reveling in the 'return to glory', all for our better enjoyment next September.
So . . . go Irish?
over/under on Rees' FLOYDFLOYDFLOYD moments?
Joe Tessitore trolling early with a "return to glory" comment
Took Florida State.
With that said which will there be more of: (1) Florida State personal fouls or (2) Rod Gilmore references to Boise State?
i have a hard time rooting for notre dame, but them winning would shut up the kids i went to hs with who are fsu fans, who think their team and school are gods gift to man. also, ive never had a bad experience with nd fans unlike msu and ohio, so i still respect nd.
ND has their names on the back
Blasphemy! Touchdown jesus would not stand for such blatant individualism.
Floyd returning punts, what a novel idea. Their season return average just quadrupled I think.
From 3 to 12 yards?
Exactly what I mean. But I think it was more along the lines of .3 to 1.2 yards.
I would appreciate it. Assumed I would find it at ESPN3 or justintv, but no go.
Okay! It IS on ESPN3!
Someone remind me how FSU started the season so highly ranked? I kind of forgot that the OK/FSU match-up was considered to have title game implications until the commentators reminded me.
FSU's starting qb got knocked out for the season in that game, and FSU never lived up to expectations after that.
Not true at all, E.J. Manuel only missed the Clemson game. I don't know what the real answer is, but my theory is that they simply don't respond well to close games.
Thanks for the correction. I should have checked before responding based on a faulty memory.
The FSU band is getting old already.
Celebrating after tackling the running back who just got a first down on third and two. Florida State definied.
Love ND's new helmets.
Why the hell do their tech fit jerseys look so much better than ours?
Every Adidas sponsored team has better looking equiptment than our stuff. I just wish they would take the UTL jerseys (which were not tech fit) and make our regular jerseys using that model.
because they don't
Derp
The Turnover Gods smile once again on Notre Dame! FSU Ball!
Tommy Rees turning the ball over in the end zone. Notre Dame defined.
Gotta love it.
Thats the Notre Dame that I'm used to seeing
didn't go well, because this team's got No!!! down to a fine art.
Great. Just great.
Herpa derpa that!
Derp fest begins!
Although, that was a really good play for Te'o to get his hand on the ball. Also a lesson in why you should carry the ball in your outside arm.
I have to root for ND, with that said a return fumble for a TD!
Purdue vs W. Michigan Dedux?
Doing the Denard "we're hungry" gesture....douche bags!
I don't want to start another thread, and this seems like a pretty hoppin thread. I just got done reading Three And Out (I know late to the party,) but does anyone know where Denard took his visits? In the book he said, he took a trip to a high profile SEC team and when he checked into the hotel there were two women waiting for him.
I know this goes on alot but I wanted to know where he took his visits so I can narrow it down to a few schools.
One of them.
Rivals is useful in things like this.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Denard-Robinson-...
Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Kansas St., UCF.
sheeeeiiiitttt, you stole my thunder...sorry for the double post, y'all
here you go, bb: http://recruiting.scout.com/2/824222.html (Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, Michigan, FSU, UCF, Kansas State)
Did you read the article? He never visited Oklahoma.
Florida, Georgia, Kansas State, UCF and Michigan.

Edit: Out clicked. Well played minstrel, well played indeed.
So when you start 4 freshman on the O-line, you get destroyed...who knew?
More like murderous.
One more time, I'm going to break the TV.
What is it? I'm watching on espn3 so I only get the Alex Baldwin commercial.
With the rapper talking about how, he has a masters in communication and how his sneakers better be adidas. So annoying.
head asplode now?
But it gives placement to adicolor in the ad.
So I take it you broke your T.V. That is the sixth time it has played, could be the start of a good drinking game.
Wow. A flashback from 1993 with uniforms that look almost exactly the same so you can instantly tell which team is which. What a fucking concept.
There's no horse collar rule in college ball, is there?
There is, and I was also wondering why that wasn't called. Guessing because he fell forward as opposed to being dragged from behind.
There is.....the refs just suck, is all.
Man, FSU just looks completely lost on offense
fsu is playing 4 freshmen on the offensive line. they have no pass protection.
I know, and they are playing like swiss cheese right now. Not totally unexpected, but ND is getting someone free anytime they send more than 3 rushers.
I like how ESPN didn't show highlights from the most recent ND-FSU game coming back from the last break.
PURPLECON level is about 4.5 right now.
EDIT: Things may be going well for ND now, but remember the inner Brian Kelly....
Interesting.
He looks much better than Rees so far.
And that Rees ends up transferring. Leaves ND QB depth very thin next year.
I'm rooting for FSU, which I can't remember ever having done in my life, and it's very weird. It takes some getting used to.
I'm just waiting for the point where the epic derping begins. You know its there, just beneath the surface.
FSU has become to the south what ND is to the Midwest. A perpetually overrated disappointment.
like ND should be ahead by more than 7 right now?
But isn't that ND's recent legacy? They should be better than they actually are?
But to answer your question, yes. FSUs O-line is turrible, and they have no hope on offense.
I am beginning to enjoy Brian Kelly's "Whichever QB I Am Not Pissed At" system...very innovative.
that ESPN won't show Kelly's face in timeouts yelling at the quarterbacks? That's bullshit...I want entertainment!
This isn't NBC so I would like to see it too.
He went flying back.
You guys might remember Kenny Shaw from Dr. Phillips, well he just got his first catch.
Save yourself the frustration of watching these two terrible football teams and watch some Michigan basketball! Go Blue beat Penn State.
Brian Kelly, I thank the gods you are not our coach.
7-0 Notre Dame in what has become a defensive struggle moderated by anemic offense on both sides of the ball. Stay tuned for Lou Holtz homer moments...
EDIT: Note to ESPN - must we constantly relive the 15 minutes when ND and FSU were #1 and #2? Those were dark and dangerous times for all.
You called the Lou Holtz homer moments. Apparently ND is intentionally not scoring points.
Lou Holtz should never be asked to comment on ND. Ever. So annoying.
Wait, ADIDAS RAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't forget UFC 141 on pay per view.
As many starters as he seems to think either.
I've heard Christian rap that's better than this Nelly song they keep playing.
Nelly used to put out music worth listening to.
is better than mine.
I despise both of these schools. I love seeing Rees throw it away though, and still get a first down through #5 DB causing a late hit out of bounds.
....are positively correlated to dipshit play in this game.
Further, why is every play in the secondary on both sides a three or four man clusterf*ck?
EDIT: Did anyone else here Dire Straits' "Walk Of Life" on that Michael Floyd catch?
I like how FSU's band keeps playing even when players are hurt on the field. When I was in the MMB, we never, ever played through an injury.
/s
AHAHAHA best TD catch EVER!
What a catch.
Can finally put points up on the board now.
If only Manuel had an O-line that didn't set itself ablaze...
Herp 3, Derp 14
And turnovers after this game will be a good laugh.
He shouldn't even be there.
He lost his way for a while, but then he found it. Conveniently in time to play against Michigan under the lights.
I'd upvote you. Thank you for the laugh.
That catch by Rashad Greene was absolutely dope.
is there a live feed for this?
thnx
Watchsports.eu . I don't think that's the right url though.
And 2 points? No, but that was definitely interference.
Clowners gonna clown.
Woot, they showed Kelly going beet after the interception.
Tommy Rees did not want to go back to the bench.
Another great catch by Greene!
And again.
Got very fun to watch.
with two failed 2-point tries, 15-14.
Interesting stat I just looked up. This is the 6th time in 10 years that the Noles are playing a bowl game in their own state. Must be nice.
Not that I'm not rooting for them. F*ck Notre Dame.
I'm enjoying my guilty pleasure of lurking at irishenvy and they're all like "put Hendrix in, put Hendrix in, put Hendrix in, it's about time they put Hen.... FFFFUUUUUUU!!!!!!!"
He comes up big, if clumsily.
ahahahah
schadenfreude overload....notre dame collapsing...ahahahhaha!
Just another reason we need to play ND every year
So ND scores a TD here then FSU, with a chance to tie, misses a FG wide right?
FSU's motto for its kickers since 1991 has been "this is not last year."
Only if they were playing Miami.
Seeing ND blow this lead is maddening.
Dagger in the heart FSU...dagger in the heart.
Better be a longsword...
"Quick! Make them have bad field position so they have to use ALL the remaining time to score!"
everytime tommy rees messes up. coach kelly is always bitchin him out. who would want to play for him.
Michigan fans wear Maize, Blue or White T-Shirts. ND fans wear green or baby blue T-Shirts. #Does not know school colors.
C'mon Rees; you have at least one more derp left in that arm...
HA!!!! You called it!
this is an epic comment...well done
...and you shall receive
I wish they had a cut away with Kelly's face on that throw....straight into double coverage.
Tommy Rees is a double agent
of Kelly chewing out his quarterbacks. Ongoing storyline is still fruitful.
ND QBs make me happy in my pants
will now transfer following in the footsepts of Dayne Christ. At least this makes the ACC good which can fight the SEC Dominance. Also it seems like Brian Kelly has been keeping his cool despite the laughable play of his QB's.
Tommy just needs to stop attempting passing TDs, that's all.
PURPLECON is approximately 2.
Tommy Rees: Trolling Brian Kelly since 9/3/11.
New favorite quarterback.
Yeah... I like this guy.
Rees=Win!
Denard would pull this off
Sad ND fans are sad.
I didn't realize ND had such a tough schedule next year, although I'm confused as to how playing in Ireland is a good idea. I realize it's an Irish Catholic institution, but are there that many ND fans in Ireland? I think the Irish would look at American football as rugby for pansies.
I was in Ireland from dec 9 to the 16th, and in a whole week, I never saw a single hat, t-shirt, bumper sticker, or any reference whatsoever to Notre Dame.
Maybe next year MSU should play a game in Sparta. Wait, wait; golden idea... The Spartans should play USC on the deck of a trireme, somewhere between Greece and Turkey.
Upvote for Bronze-age maritime reference.
Be awesome.
They're not even an Irish Catholic institution. They were founded by French priests, hence the name Notre Dame ("Our Lady" in French).
I alway knew the winner of this game would be MNC next year, but thanks ESPN for confirming it.
Man. Michigan football has had some tough sleddin' the past few years, but damn. The constant and continuing abuse of the ND fans' soul dong is mind blowing. It's almost as if all that "returning to glory" crap was just... crap.
/s
13 points for meeee
You can't make this stuff up
Good riddance.
is going to be 700,000 photos of him chewing out QBs. If I'm an ND fan this doesn't make me happy.
And they're getting 3, up 17 giving up 18 in the 4th quarter asses.
Where's that Phork dip who was saying ND doesn't need the Big Ten because they're headed for BCS greatness tonight?
In a non-BCS bowl game? That IS an achievement!
The only thing in football better than ND losing is UM winning.
God, Kelly comes across badly during a loss and Holtz in the studio after the game looked like he had been hit by a truck.
Fun game for ND unfans like me.
Seeing Notre Dame lose warms my heart. Thank you and goodnight.
Thread over at NDNation saying that FSU was holding all game. Priceless!
B.Kelly will have nightmares about redzone turnovers for years to come. Wow, ND really killed themselves all year with that.
to a brew-pub instead of watching the derpfest. Now
ND's ability to derp away games is unparalleled.
notre dame football + turnovers in the red zone =
He looked like he just came from a funeral. The look of absolute despair is awesome.
The only thingt better than a ND loss is an Ohio loss.
Phork the Dork:
"When we beat FSU tomorrow that will be 4 ACC teams we played this year."
Oops what happened there?
http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/has-notre-dames-hand-been-forced#comment-140...
Suck it Irish
