Oregon-Oregon St. SEC Championship Game. #1 & #2 trying to stay that way. Edit: Hopefully the B12, ACC Championships, and, uh, Apple Cup and U-Conn/S. Florida games are at least closer than the afternoon games.
Championship Week Afternoon Games Open Thread
Okay I must admit, Oregon's helmets and uniforms are pretty awesome today.
i'm feeling the oregon state uniforms today. matte black helmets are all the rage
I wonder what our wings would look like over matte blue?
awesome imo, but i could only imagine the fan freakout.
I like Oregon St.'s unis. Almost look like duck hunters.
What the heck are Oregon's uniforms even supposed to be? Chain links? My TV is too small to determine what it is.
They would be pretty awesome if silver was a school color. I'm a crabby traditionalist and this is the sort of shit that drives me crazy. If you want to change your uniforms every week and have your mascot ride a harley, please join the arena football league and take Boise State with you
I agree. They look pretty badass.
I'm probably going to watch the SEC game, but I kind of want to catch at least some of Oregon's offense (the future?).
Oregon State's unis are pretty slick too.
Hate to admit it, but they look awesome today.
I'm thinking both Dogs here to cover. Any thoughts?
OSU's QB gets drilled and it doesn't look good.
Both teams going throwback...
...and the QB gets WRECKED on the first play of the game
My wife and I are sitting here cracking up everytime the announcers say "beaver".
I think we are too immature to watch this game.
I just chuckled a bit when they said "The Ducks are in Beaver territory."
Vag, I mean Vaz into the game for the Beavs.
Starting QB throwing on the sidelines...what a strip
BALL! Oregon can't HOLD ON TO THE DAMN BALL!
Can't believe they didn't review that. Are they using Big Ten refs?
They screw up enough on their own.
but who cares? Got the pick. Pulling for Oregon to beat the cheaters in the BCS Championship game.
Then you won't have to worry about it. Question is can TCU stay in the next spot.
Well, i mean that was basically where Oregon would've had the ball if the return was reviewed. So it isn't all bad I suppose.
How many T/Os will there be!?
Oregon usually hangs on to the ball really well. They have one of the best TO margins in the country.
So much for that, two turnovers in 4 minutes.
But not, it seems, today.
And another one!
-2 in 1st qtr
At least three now. This is rediculous. Reminds me of OSU last year. Coincidence?
I wanna see us use that option
So much for that.
looks like UM fumbles...
So is the Oregon/OS game the one being played in the snow, or was it Pitt/Cincy?
turnover turnover turnover turnover
Did anyone else see the mat with the circles for where each player is suppose to go for special teams? I find this funny but organizational.
Please let Oregon and Auburn win. Yes, I love upsets, but I don't think this board would survive should Stanford make it to Glendale. Amen.
I think you're praying to the wrong god.
Stanford got lit up by Oregon, even one loss Oregon probably doesn't drop below Stanford.
I couldn't help but watch Big 10 Icon - Charles Woodson before the Oregon game. It has been many moons since I had last seen Michigan football pwn n00bs and I was very aroused by what I saw. Specifically, Woodson fist pumping in David Boston's face and proceeding to beat the beat up.
Show a little testicular fortitude and admit you too have a mancrush on Woodson.
I like watching Jacquizz run the ball. Dude pounds the hole.
How does a Beaver pound a hole?
I kid, i kid. He is fun to watch.
Only got 3 in on the Beavers.
Oregon's gonna get another INT or two before the end of the day.
Touchdown. OS. Quizz.
Does it make me immature that I find it awesome that I get to cheer for Beavers and Cocks today?
by cheering for Cocks'N'Beavers!
They're not playing each other.
Did anyone else notice that the graphic on ABC listed Casey Matthews as Clay Matthews?
Go for it.
Damn, Katz is picking them apart. Even though I like the Ducks, I like the Beaver's aggressiveness. Watching Oregon's offense makes me a little nervous and sad because we could be saying goodbye to man that pioneered it. I just love it.
Sweet throw back pass!
Anybody else see him throw up the O at the crowd and not get flagged?
Yakety Sax on the block
WHOA! Kick blocked!
Some happy beavers!
So many little things adding up in OSU favor right now.
Would have been Awesome!
No penalty for hand O.
Karmic chaos ensues
By the way, 62 yd pass play by Auburn.
EDIT: Oh, and TD 1:40 into the game.
After a couple gimmick plays, Newton gets 4 hours to throw the ball and they score.
Have these announcers seen an Oregon game yet? They start slow and then make adjustments and win.
...or is the Civil War setting up to be one of those games where Quizz Rodgers starts playing in another dimension?
Remember the game he had against USC where he basically single-handedly defeated them?
That pretty much describes any game that Oregon State wins
Lulz another pick. So many tipped passes.
Yet another turnover... sheesh...
I told ya so.
Jesus... Doesn't that holder know? Laces out!!
Touchdown South Carolina. The secondaries for both teams are being exposed. I don't think either quarterback should worry about getting below 300 yards today.
Danielson: This game means so much to the players....AND the fans
Vern: AND....the coaches.
AND... The kid from florida whose laptop got jacked.
So I can slobber over the SEC some more.
Nice pass by Garcia to a wide open reciever ties the game up. 7-7.
Show us the fight!
Anyone have a good picture in picture strategy for placing the small image? Doesn't seem to be a good place for it that is not in the way
But, seriously... there really isn't a good location for it.
Oregon's D is looking a bit lost on the passes that aren't tipped.
I hate the sec and their pom poms.
Fake and a tip. Sweet.
That was so obviously gonna be fake. And now OSU might've lost their kicker.
Touchdown James, Oregon. It appears this will be a typical Oregon game; start slow and end in a blowout.
Am I the only one who loves Oregon State's flat/matte black helmets?
That was a garbage PF call. It looked like the Oregon RB was still in bounds when he was hit.
I am heartily sick of these cbs announcers getting choked up over how awesome their beloved sec is.
looks like a goddamn porcupine. Chill out on the hair gel.
Touchdown Auburn is trending on twitter. Pretty much describes this game so far.
Cock ends up over the ball.
Eh, nothing fun to say about that mascot.
How can Newton stay on the field while he's bleeding like that? Are you allowed to play while bleeding in football, unlike in basketball?
You're allowed to shop your services to various schools and still play, what's a little blood?
Erin Andrews looks really good today.
Quite the compliment, considering the weather.
There aren't many less intimidating option quarterbacks than Steven Garcia.
Like, the entire world outside of half of the state of Alabama is rooting for South Carolina, right?
Will Auburn still make it to the MNC if they lose? I don't think the voters will put TCU ahead of them because, well you know, the SEC is Chuck Norris combined with "lazers".
I have no clue other than just a gut feeling but I think Auburn gets the nod either way. If Oregon loses then TCU will jump to #2 but I don't see the Frogs passing Auburn if they lose this game in a close fashion
Just missed it. Damn
Chip Kelly don't give a fuck
Don't you pretty much sell out to not allow the fake there? Geez.
about Newton: "I will say this, already in his career, he is a much better passer than Mike Vick, Vince Young, and Tim Tebow."
...he kinda is better
Watch a 1970s Rose Bowl and you'll see what happens. The fast guys win.
The camera positions in NFL stadiums seem a lot closer to the field, which makes the players look bigger and faster. Michigan has plenty of big guys, it's just that the ones on defense aren't very good right now.
Has anyone else noticed Danielson hasn't said shit about the spread since about week 5? The spread's as dead as I am.
Something about how Saban runs a pro-style defense and how it was shutting down Auburns spread.
That's unfair. Newton has something going for him, that's for sure.
Saw that. Feel bad for the guy she beat. Not only did he lose to a girl who threw basketball chest passes, but he lost $100,000.
Just to catch the Beaver chants of "Bullshit"?
dont have to watch this game anymore
And it's oddly not hot.
Nebraska and Oklahoma's rivalry is THE reason the Big 10 needed to create protected games. It was a great rivalry--in 1980.
End with it though, no?
