Essentially, Fiutak thinks we're gonna win 7 games and RR is gonna get canned.
CFN Preview: Michigan
Can you imagine a single player that has not seen all of this negativity and has resolved to crush it? Damn, I'm a friggin fan and I want to punch Fiutak in the schnozz.......
"... anything less than eight wins won’t give him the opportunity."
Typically useless... NEXT!
In light of his recent writings, claiming that RR will get canned isn't the stupidest thing he's said this offseason. That notwithstanding, it's pretty damn stupid. 7-5 does seem possible, but I'm guessing 8-4 myself.
Agree completely, and its too bad people negged you because they either skimmed your comment without comprehension or did so simply because you're an OSU fan. Enjoy my pos to compensate.
It makes me want to grow a bad mustache and tip something bovine.
What you said was legit, but the "O" just cancels it out. Sorry.
grow an awesome mustache and grill something bovine.
This is the same guy who talked up the late Matt James for Notre Dame's upcoming season, right? Right.
I can't read that site at work, but if he didn't mention Jasper Howard giving us problems during the UConn game then it's already one of his finer articles this summer.
Seriously, how many ways can he spell Kovacs' name wrong in one article? Kovacks? Kouvacs?
Brian, TomVH, and many of us here have more credibility than that baffoon does
Fiutak proves he is either a had designed to go on an ass, or a hat made of an ass. I'm not sure which it's supposed to be.
Does he also predict Demar Dorsey starts at safety?
That he will be an Academic All-American.
No he said he will be in a battle with Cissoko for the starting CB job
I am perplexed as to why people go to CFN for "news". I rarely visit the site and only for the sheer inane banality of it, like reading US Weekly in the grocery checkout line, but for crying out loud, quit taking that site seriously.
Charlie Mackenzie: Hey Mom, I find it interesting that you refer to the Weekly World News as, "The paper." The paper contains facts.
May Mackenzie: This paper contains facts. And this paper has the eighth highest circulation in the whole wide world. Right? Plenty of facts. "Pregnant man gives birth." That's a fact.
I think Brian made the point first, but it's worth remembering the words of BHGP when CFN comes up:
"This puts Dienhart in a different league than, say, CollegeFootballNews.com, who just plain never know what the fuck they're talking about. CFN is to actual analysis what ramming two GI Joes together is to MMA. It's only the same to 7-year-olds."
The schedule: A dominant Michigan team would blow through this schedule without much of a problem.
Hmm. Pete, isn't the definition of a "dominant" team "one that would blow through a schedule without much of a problem?"
"Yeah, Tom, their schedule is such that if they are better than all the teams they play then they should have no problems. But if they aren't, then they might struggle against the teams that are better than them. Just a quirk of the schedule, I suppose."
Is that you John Madden?
All of these predictions just evidence the unpredictability of college football. And - that is what makes it so great. I love (and sometimes hate) knowing that on any given Saturday all most any team can win. So take these predictions for what they are worth - outside of a few safe bets, the probability of these guys being right is about the same as them being wrong. And that is one reason I love college football. So, in short, this is all part of this game.
Nothing about Vincent Smith in the RB preview and he goes out on a limb and mentions 6 different players when he mentions the best on defense for the team!
...to eight wins. I think that's the minimally acceptable benchmark or his job is truly on the line.
It's time to break out the big guns and go on the attack.
... I could neg vote Pete Fiutak.
Read this and try not to laugh or cry (especially the O-line details):
ugg cfn is awful ....
really looking at past previews just show further evidence to how useless cfn and their current predictions are
"There’s a ton of experience returning on both sides of the ball..."
"Ten Best Michigan Players" which did not include Mike Martin, but had Kovacs and Ezeh on there....hmmmmmmmmm
This. He says that 5 of our top 10 players are on defense, but Mike Martin isn't one of them. He's an upperclassman returning starter who played very well last year. I know we have a lot of returning starters to pick from, but I'm surprised that Kovacs and Ezeh were picked over Martin. Really, I'm surprised any defensive player was picked over Martin, but guys like Roh, Woolfolk and RVB I can understand better than a walk-on and a guy who got benched for a walk-on last year.
It's possible that Kovacs and/or Ezeh don't even start this fall, and Mike Martin has his spot sewn up more than anyone not named T-Wolf.
It's been a while since I've regularly visited CFN. My patronage of that site declined in proportion with my increasing readership of mgoblog, m'n'b, iBlogforcookies, etc. I just clicked the link to read the article and a couple observations.
- Oh geez, could they possibly squeeze in more ads? Seriously. I don't think there is a single square inch of real estate left on that page. I counted 16 (!) ads.
- These are nice little overviews of every team and might be something I'd be interested to get a quick recap on an opponent. However, I've been spoiled by the depth of analysis in the UM blogger community and this just seems so high level for a fan. The ESPN/Blue Ribbon preview puts this to serious shame, and even that isn't as good as the previews you get here and elsewhere.
I don't know, maybe Fiutak represents the casual college football fan who knows just enough to be dangerous. If so, I can understand the appeal by so many out there. But it doesn't make him anywhere close to accurate.
Hey at least he knows that Obi is a Soph. WTF
first when I saw CFN in the header I wanted to just punch kittens. After Futiak wrote up the ND kid after he was deceased. This type of journalism is rediculous does he read research or anything before he starts typing. But alas I had to remeber my blood presureand just remebered that these are grown men writing about a game.
did Fiutak mention our strong linebacking corps made up of Cobrani Mixon, Marcus Witherspoon, and Taylor Hill?
Did he say that Bo is still our coach?
His name sounds like onomatpoeia for "someone who can't spit without getting it all over his shirt."
It's too bad Scout affiliated with CFN. It degrades the value of their name. I used to love CFN until I realized the editors don't know jack. MGoBlog has been a blessing.
"could be a mess that ruins team consistency." what a cock...
i wasnt aware that we had a player that spelled his name that way ,,,,
I am SURE he wouldnt mess up one of our "10 best players" so i assume i am wrong ....
did a player from usc just transfer to umich while i was sleeping or something?
CFN is not worth reading...EVER.
