Saban, Miles, and Stoops aren't going to be fired any time soon. All of these guys could go 7-5 for a few years in a row and still probably keep their jobs.

How could there possibly be 44 coaches whose jobs are more secure than Harbaugh's at the moment?  Literally the only way he could get fired in the next couple of years would be for a personal scandal.  They should just cut the list off at #50 or so and consider everyone else "safe".

And yeah, Saban at #15 is just a tad ridiculous.  He's only won three national titles since 2009.

I don't miss Carr. Carr had four elite seasons out of 13. 1997, 1999, and 2003, 2006. That aint' good enough. And before you say ''well look what we went through after him'' if Harbaugh turns out to be as good as we all think, I'd gladly do these last seven years over (8 if you count Appalachain State year in 2007).

Mark Richt hasn't won crap on the national level since the Sugar Bowl in 2007 and hasn't won the SEC since 2005. And he is surrounded by the state of Georgia football talent.

Fans are frustrated with Richt because his teams have an abundance of talent and a nasty habit of blowing a tire in big games.

Kind of like the end of Pete Carroll's USC era, where they still managed to win 4 Rose Bowls and an Orange Bowl, but seemed to blow a gimmie every year against an unranked to keep them from the title game.

Washington State is in a much better place with Leach.  5 wins at WSU is successful.  They are getting facilities built, people are atleast a talking about them.  Who are they going to get if they replace him?

Not clear if this is a bad list of coaching hot seat candidates, or the worst.  First, the assumption that all coaches are on some level of hot seat is silly.  Jim Harbaugh's seat is as cold as they come. Second, Tim Beckman is not #1 on the list.  That in itself is a joke.

Richt should probably be higher. He fields some teams with elite talent and still can't get over the hump.

He took Clemson, Auburn, Mizzou and Louisville to the cleaners last year, all good teams in their own rights. And then he goes and loses to South Carolina, and gets his ass kicked by a hapless Florida team. They're probably good for NY6 bowls while he's there, but I doubt he will ever get Georgia to a playoff.

I watched that that game last year against South Carolina last year, the players lost that one. Hudson Mason grounded on a 1st down on a critical series, their kicker who had hit 20 straight missed critical FGs, Georgia had finally taken momentum back in the game then it was delayed or something due to weather and Gurley had like two 50+ yard TD runs called back.

The Florida game was a WTF moment though. Florida had like 25!? passing yards in that game because they had two, yes two 200 yard backs. The Georgia Tech loss wasn't anythig to laugh at either, the Ga Tech had a great year last year. Also they lost the best player in all of college football IMO last year in Gurley for a dumb suspension then injury, granted Sony Michel and Nick Chubb both played very well. Chubb was a stud.

I would say that he must win the SEC East this year or feel the pressure rightfully. Things could be worse than going 10-3 every year though, I think we as Michigan know this better than most.

Les Miles should be #1 on that list. LSU fans have been sick of him for a few years now. And they seem to play to their competition (either up or down) on a weekly basis. Only good recruiting has been keeping him afloat.

I think they need to be a little more in line with Iowa's thought process on this and ease Ferentz up the list through time as the buyout slowly decreases. Eventually, he leaves and we see once and for all that Bret Bielema was merely biding his time until that job became available. At that point, Bielema could simply assume Ferentz's position on this list at the same point in, say, 2006 or 2007.

Or is that now how Iowa works?

If Meyer goes 13-1 next year and his only loss is to Michigan then he may very well be on the hot seat in Columbus.

On another note, how is Harbaugh ranked ahead of David Shaw, exactly? And, uh, Rich Rodriguez? Not that either of those coaches deserve the hot seat but really?

After one year, I'd say even if his only loss is to Michigan, he won't feel any heat whatsoever. Winning a national title buys a lot of slack.

If he loses again in 2016, especially when it's in Columbus where OSU hasn't lost to us in 15 years, then yeah, he might start getting a little heat. But he still won't go anywhere. OSU literally can't do any better than Meyer. All you could expect is Columbus to burn to the ground that night. Which would be all well and good by me.

1.  This is old.  Dan Enos is still listed as the head coach of Central Michigan.

2. Paul Rhoads at #1? Maybe he is on a hot seat, or close to the hot seat, but #1 is a little much.

3. Hazell, MacIntyre, Dykes, Stoops, Riley, Taggart, Mason, Sumlin, and Beilema have no business on this list.  Most are entering their 2nd or 3rd seasons, with the exception of Sumlin and Riley, but the others have all shown improvement.  Sumlin has been successful enough in his first coulpe of seasons to not even think about the hot seat for 2-3 more seasons.  Riley just got to Lincoln and is installing a new system.  I think the good people there will give him 1-2 years to get that going.

4. This UMDawg poster cracks me up.  When does Georgia not want to fire their coach? I guess you would rather have Jim Donnan back? The guy couldn't beat Tennessee, Florida, or GEORGIA TECH even.  Plus he should be in jail.  Oh, before him they had Ray Goff.  I'm sure y'all want those days back really badly.  Richt is a high-character coach who wins double digit games year in and year out, while also running a clean program.  When was the last time Georgia was on probation?  You have it better than you think in Athens.

5. Michigan fans know damn well that if Jim Harbaugh, 8 years down the line, with an .800 winning percentages and a couple national championships, lost his final two  games of the season in 2023, and then lost to Ohio State (gasp!) in the playoff semifinal, his butt would be pretty warm by then, too.  That's the equivalent of Saban at Alabama.  Raise the floor, but you also raise the ceiling at the same time.

How does Lane Kiffin stay employed. He was the only guy on the field (in the playoff against Ohio)  that could stop Derrick Henry (95 yards on 13 carries... he should have had at least 25 carries). Horrible play calling.
