center depth?

Rocko Khoury is listed as the backup. I get the feeling that if Molk went down this year (Please, NO angry michigan OL hating god!) then one of our guards would shuffle over to center. This year we have enough depth to keep rolling even if this happens.

Khoury is indeed the backup and got garbage time with the 2nd stringers yesterday. When Molk wasn't there in Spring Practice, IIRC, Schilling was at center and Barnum moved up to fill his spot. Spotty recollection though.

But it is absolutely not true. Schilling never played center. Rocko Khoury is the backup. After rocko is ricky and elliot mealer. (they both are backup guards (ricky with the 2s, elliot with 3s)) Rocko started during the spring game

I saw Tate having to snag a lot of shitty snaps.. i assumed Khoury was playing

I made the joke during the game that Molk appeared to be trying to sabotage Tate. His snaps were quite noticeably difficult.

Molk was consistently snapping it low and to Tate's right. It happened often enough that I think Tate may have asked him to snap it that way.

at least I never saw a bad snap that I could recall when he was in. Really don't recall when he saw action - just noticed that Molk was out of the game, during Q4. Very hopeful that he can step in if needed because the O line is very tough with this mix. Lewan has really shown some skills - so our depth is is a huge asset.
Not sure where our O line ranks in the B10 in terms of total starts ? But it sure getting better every week !

those guys were active, mobile, and the blocking was tremendous. I know it was BGSU, but still the improvement over the past couple years is definite.

Having played the position for 4 years in HS, I can tell you that snapping the ball is always one of your nightmares. One awful memory from my senior year comes to mind.
We are playing away and on my first long snap of the game I sent it back low. The punter was able to field it but then bobbled and the punt was awful. The coach benched me and sent in my back up. On the next punt he proceeded to snap it over the punters head (no way was he goint to snap one low) and the ball went into the end zone where they recovered for a TD. This was the difference in the game. Coach put me back in and I almost sh** my self every long snap the rest of the game. Hard to worry about your assignment and blocking every play while praying to avoid another 4th down.
There was no shot gun back then and all the other snaps were direct to the qb but even that gets dicey on wet cold snowy muddy etc. days and I can tell you the qb never gets the blame when one of those goes bad. There now...that feel better to get that off my 60 year old chest. Just a little center empathy out there in blog land goes a long way.
