Cell the Blue
I just heard on the local news that a Michigan fan (Kris Claus is what it sounded like, please correct me if I am wrong) is trying to organize what could be something really epic if done well. He's asking for everybody at the UCONN game to have "The Victors" as a ringtone and play it the moment the ball is kicked off. Anybody else think this is a good idea?
No, no it isn't. Such an awful idea.
I guess it's interesting, but I don't even know if I can even get ringtones on my phone. Maybe I'll throw it on my ipod and see what happens. I doubt this works, but what do I know?
...the right time. People will (should) be cheering very loudly at that exact moment.
I am sure that their will never be a right time.
...with you. I was trying to be nice to the OP.
There's a time and a place. The time is Never. I'll let you figure out the place
That is honestly one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. Sorry
sounds horrible like the osu fan trying to get the vuvezuelas during a game.
The only time I will condone everyone playing The Victors on their cell phones is while the stadium is playing RAWK music.
It's just something that came up on Grand Rapids' FOX17 that I heard. I didn't know how big a deal it was since it actually made the news.
EDIT: I agree it's not a good idea as everybody should be cheering like crazy at kickoff. Potential, but not very practical.
...nearly as bad as actually writing the words to "The Victors" on the side of the stadium.
like a "jump" to conclusions mat.
Good idea in theory. But unless everyone can download the same version, and all of those thousands phones could be synchronized to play in harmony.. it would probably be the most annoying sound ever!
near the end of this at 1:10, it says what i think about this idea
it wont be allowed at kickoff, maybe during a time out. On second thought, nope
It won't really matter since 10 seconds later the MMB will be playing it after Stonum takes the kickoff back for a TD.
the Band has a really good arrangement. And if we ask really nicely, maybe they'll play it and then the rest of us will have our hands free so we can clap and wave excitedly and stuff.
And I'm willing to bet all the instruments in the band will be playing in the same key.
This is a no-brainer.
What would you rather have: 110,000 Michigan fans bumbling and stumbling with their cell phones during kickoff or 110,000 Michigan fans cheering like hell for the Maize and Blue?
Also, think about how out of sync everyone's "Hail" fists are when the band plays. You don't notice the sound, because it's all coming from the MMB.
Imagine the song being played out of sync like the singing and the visual hailing...oh man, it would be like a sound a sci-fi movies uses to incapacitate people.
