CCHA Hockey: UM vs ND Availability?

Submitted by phork on

I see that Game2 of UM vs ND will be on Comcast, is game1 going to be on anywhere, and is there streams usually available for CCHA games?

NBCSP has done (and will mainly do) either Hockey East or ECAC games, as that is where the majority of viewers will be. The odd WCHA game or CCHA game might appear, but NBCSP is not obligated to show ND.

Hockey East currently has a multi-year contract with NBC Sports (which includes showing the Hockey East tournament this year). Notre Dame's contract doesn't begin until 2013-2014. At that point, they will be in Hockey East, but they still have their own contract with NBC Sports giving them some special perks over the other Hockey East teams.

I'd expect the Friday game will be on Comcast or not at all, due to other sports networks preferring to cover bouncyball.

ND typically has streaming for their games on their website, but it might be for home games only. I doubt you will be able to watch the Friday night game anywhere but inside of Yost.

Has anyone tried shooting using software like Qik Video or the like to shoot video on an iPad and live stream it to the web? How much battery life would this use, and how low quality would it be? And how upset would the University be?

Not getting to watch these games is a huge bummer.

Is it possible that Michigan will broadcast it on MGoBlue for a fee? Seems like a no brainer to me. I would be paying no questions asked, meaning MOAR money for the U.
