CC: Urban Meyer 1 yr From Now

Submitted by brewandbluesaturdays on

So, the general consensus around these parts seems to be "OMMGGGGG DOOOOOOM NOOOO HARBAUGH!!!!", which I don't entirely agree with. I have tried to avoid the CC topic and I have now failed myself and am contributing. What I dont get is why so many people seem to think that we have to make a change if don't  wind up with Harbaugh. The last time I checked RR had not been fired yet and there seems to be some good defensive coaches out there for the picking.

Secondly, People seemto be forgetting that Urban Meyer has just become available. I will be willing to bet my bottom dollar that after a year off from football and a year of family time he will be dying to get back on coaching scene. So what do we do? We give RR that 4th year and if we see the epic turnaround on defense we all hope for and out offense is that much better than hooray! If it doesnt, what do we do? We go make Urban Meyer the highest paid coach in the country to come out of retiement. Urban runs a spread and would bring instant appeal to recruiting, you know since he's one a couple MNC's and what not.

Lastly, whoever is the coach at Michigan I will fully support until he is no longer our coach. If RR is fired I will be greatful to him for the victories and the amount of effort he has put into this program and whomever the next guy may be, as soon as announced, he will gain my full support.  Go Blue and I cannot wait for the dust to settle.

This idea is more enticing than many others that have been posted.  Why does everyone shit on people for posting something they deem interesting?  Isn't that the point of this board?  Or is it only to try and post something clever that appeals to the mass conscience that is mgoblog?  Write whatever you want... as long as I agree with it.  Otherwise you are stupid and I will let you know it.  That's the kind of crap I read over and over again.  I'm not sure why I continue to read it all.  It's like a bad soap opera (yes, that's a redundant statement).

I for one am with you about whoever the coach is I will root for him until the end. I am a Michigan fan through and through. I do agree that Meyer will not be out for long. Meyer is a great coach and will be coaching again sooner rather than later. I am not sure if he would come to Michigan but he is a proven winner wherever he goes.

Never once in my rambling, did I say "I WANT". In a perfect world what I want is for Michigan to win football games and get back to glory. I "WANT" whatever coach is going to do that. All I was saying is that, there are good candidates out there that fit the system in place and have proven track records of recruiting and winning i.e.) 1 inparticular: Urban Meyer. Incase everybody's best fit ----> Harbaugh doesn't come.

That is all I was going for.

Yeah, that news source we dare not post around here would have a field day when Meyer's players start getting arrested around here. I lost all respect for the guy last year during HeartAttackGate. If he becomes our coach, I'll burn down my house, buy a suite in the east tower of the stadium with the money, go to the opening game and throw myself out that bitch! Let this play out and hope Brandon has his pimp hand on full stun right now!

As some of you may know, Chris Spielman has a radio show in Columbus and is also a good friend with Urban. On the day that Urban had his press conference about stepping down, Mr. Spielman called Meyer and asked him about if the OSU head coaching job came up in the next five years he would do whatever he could to get it.
