According to Ozone they have a source that he is gone after sugar bowl. Did we grab him or someone else?

A lot of OSU fans wanted Herman fired after the VT loss. It wasn't until the Sparty win that they started to warm up to him.
He also pretty much single handily cost them the B10 championship last year by not running Hyde in the 4th quarter.
Probably a decent coach, but not someone Michigan should have to settle for. Also, probably too smart for his own good to be a football coach, if that makes sense.

Herman has made Cardale freaking Jones look like an All-American. He's made Miller and Barrett into Heisman contenders. While losing your starting QB to injury would cripple most teams, Herman just plugged another guy right in and there was little to no drop off. Twice.
Look at the current state of our offense, especially the play of our QBs, and tell me that getting Herman would be "settling."

Well, how much of that was Meyer and how much was Herman is the million dollar question.
And Herman is also co-OC there. So there are a lot of people with hands on that offense.

He's pretty good you know. He has had outstanding offenses everywhere he has been.
Herman is completely unproven.Hiring him would be settling. He has no head coaching experience.

I hadn't thought of the grad transfer option. I still don't think it will happen, even if we did get Herman.

how hilarious would it be if A) Herman was picked up by Michigan, and B) Miller followed him here when he realizes that there's almost no way he gets his job back over Barrett next year?
I don't get it. Why would that be "hilarious"? It'd make perfect sense for Miller and it wouldn't hurt OSU much, as we've seen this season.

He'll coach at Houston and get them back to 10 win seasons and will then take over for Sumlin at Texas A&M after he gets canned after a few more 7-5/8-4 type years.

never seen a coach's wife tweet a denial. Sarcasm is noted. Would be truly a gas if she is right.

Eventually he could end up being a great coach but I think he will have to prove it at a smaller school before getting a big program gig. We need a big name to save our program.
