He hasn't been at the helm of the Ducks playcalling long but in his first season he set the team record for points scored and the previous high was done in a 14 game season. He knows both sides of the ball and has actually now coached as both a DC and OC. He seems to have the presence of a HC and is becoming a hot name around the country. When it looked as though Pelini was on his way out, most Nebraska fans were all on board for their former QB. So it would be cool to steal him away while we have the chance.

He lobbied hard against us in the media and called us out as not worthy of the NC.  He was not just a bystander.

Of course, if he came here and won us a National Championship, that would make up for a few things.

He was a kid. If he could coach the team back to success I have no problem with anything said by someone at that age. Not saying I think he's a contender or would even be a good choice but that something like that shouldn't be in consideration for whether someone is worthy. Just win.

Did Frost (1) advocate that Nebraska get a split (co-National Champions)?, or (2) advocate that Nebraska get the National Championship alone?  Is there a tape or article with his exact quotes?

If it's (1), i don't understand the U-M animosity for Frost .... if it is (2), I do understand.

Co-national champions are not ideal, but there are other schools in history who didn't even get that recognizition.

Sorry MichiganSports that I was too lazy to do one of these as I know we were both on this bandwagon the other day.  He's definitely lower on the list but I wouldn't be mad about hiring him.  He'll be a head coach at a power 5 soon enough, only hindsight will tell how good he will be.

They didn't hire Tressel for winning one game. They hired Cooper specifically because he beat Michigan in the 1987 Rose Bowl.

Nevermind Arizona State's only loss that year was to their archrival Arizona in the last week of the season. They should have seen it coming.

How much of Oregon's current success is attributable to him, and how much is Helfrich? I'm a bit worried about hiring an OC that's under an offensive head coach, just as I'd be a little worried about a DC under a defensive head coach (Narduzzi). Not saying that these guys aren't the reason for the success of their units, but we better be sure that they are before making them a head coach.

I'm sure their success is not attributable to him too much, but that's not the question.  It's whether he has learned enough coaching under Chip Kelly (for 4 years) and now Helfrich (2 additional years) to duplicate that success here.  Helfrich and Kelly might be the big reasons Oregon has been successful, but Frost might have been in their brains enough to bring that same system to another school with comparable success.

If people think that Hoke was underqualified to be Michigan's head coach, I have no idea how they could justify Frost.  The guy has been an offensive coordinator for a little over one year, and it's not like he turned around a previously struggling offense.  He would be an incredibly risky hire with an incredibly thin resume.

I can't get the memory of Frost blubbering on national TV about how his retiring coach Osborne deserved the national championship. These coaching ideas are getting a little goofy.

I think anyone affiliated with Oregon's offense should be given a serious consideration. It may not be a far fetched idea that Frost and/or Helfrich would be contacted given how they made adjustments and ran away from MSU.

I mean I would take him over a tired re-tread of a coach.  He's not an ideal candidate and doesn't have a meaty resume at this point nor much experience.  But if you can't convince anyone actually qualified (which won't happen if Brandon is still around), then at least a guy like that has really high upside.  However, if he were to be very successful, you can bet your ass Nebraska would come knocking and I'm guessing he would leave UM.  Which I would prefer not happen.

I was watching Shark Tank with my son last night, and Herjavec offered the entrepreneurs exactly what they were asking for. My son asked why they weren't taking the offer. I explained that Mark Cuban hadn't said anything yet. Herjavec is worth ~$100M. Cuban is worth $2.6B. That's why you wait for Cuban to make an offer or proclaim, "I'm out."
