CC: Sam Webb says Addazio and Schiano are rising up the board

Submitted by pfholland on

Sam Webb is stating that Greg Schiano is, "generating the majority of buzz," and the BC's Steve Addazio's name is, "being mentioned more and more in Ann Arbor."  Apparently Addazio's style of play and BC academics are the primary reasons.

As an aside, Sam has made the decision to be the sole voice on coaching search updates over at the Michigan Scout premium board, effectively censoring Tom Beaver.  Sam and Tom's information hasn't been agreeing (Tom has been far more optimistic on Harbaugh) but until now both viewpoints were presented.  No more.  I would typically never post premium content elsewhere (and never have before), but after this move along with Sam's locking of the thread where subscribers were crticizing his decision he can go fuck himself.

This seems to me like people within the department are intentionally leaking false information. They have Harbaugh wrapped up and they just want to throw the media off the scent until it's announced. This is what I am telling myself over and over.

Who gives a shit about a coach and academics. They're not here to teach. That falls on the professors and deans of this fine university. Either Schlissel wants to turn us into Brown or the people in the AD are so out of touch with reality that it's scary.

If it is, I'm calling bullshit on UM's money, facilities, and competency in important leadership positions.  Absolute bullshit.

That is just pathetic.  A 55 year old guy who got his first head coaching gig at 51 and with the resume he's put together (at Temple and Boston College) CANNOT be the choice for Michigan without catastrophic consequences.

I'm higher on Schiano than most, but I share the disdain for Addazio.  Effing awful.

that neither coach is an acceptable choice. We the fans make the program possible. The shareholders have to let their voices be heard.

No to Addazio and Schiano. No, no, no, no.

The fuck is wrong with Michigan. If we hire one of these ass clowns I'm gonna be pissed. Why we would even entertain this bs is beyond me....

Sam Webb is turning into a clickbait whore. It's just rumor after rumor. Who the hell is even a source for him any more? The entire program has been cleaned out. Only one left would be DeBord and I doubt that.

Now, I don't believe in deities, but I swear to fucking god, if Michigan hires Schiano, I am writing a letter directly to Hackett every day. I will also discontinue donating money and, to be honest, I donate large amounts of money annually.

Webb lost a lot of credibility with his insistence that Hoke wasn't gone.  Other people had way better information on Hoke and Brandon being gone than he did.

After what he said about Hoke do his "sources" really need their own individual post because its become clear that they just are not reliable.

Great source for recruiting, but his coaching sources are not good at all.

I dont think this was the right time to tell us what we don't wanna hear regarding CC given what OSU is doing to Wisco right now.

That's straight animal abuse. Badgers everywhere should be wary.

No problem if they are rising up the board to crest near the top of the 'level 3 - oh shit, we messed up this search' group of candidates. But rising up the board to be above, say anyone rated around the level of Whittingham would be dissapointing. Climbing up so high as to be among the first names contacted after a Harbaugh turndown would be gut wrenching.

If either hired, next autumn  would be the first in my memory that I wouldn't care at all about college football yet alone have a team I considered to be "mine."  Unless I finally adopt Oregon now that I've been out here for nine years.

I stopped caring about this year after i saw how terribly we looked against ND. I still went to most of the games, but my interest in all college football was pedestrian at best. If either of these coaches are hired, I may give up college football all together!

If you're not even going to compete. If Webb is right, I envision the discussion in the coaching search war room sounding like this:

I do say, this Les Miles disturbs my genteel sensibilities, what say you chap?

Hear, hear... And while we're at it, I find the spread to be unsporting. One should not resort to such trickery in a gentlemanly contest.

I agree in earnest. In fact, I find any attempt to score more points than the opponent to be unbecoming. Perhaps we could just assign additional tutors in lieu of a coaching staff.

Has Sam jumped the shark with credible CC info? Is he just throwing out whatever rumor tickles his ear next without finding out any credibility or is simply trusting his sources? I can't belive that these two choices are at all credible. If one of these clowns get hired we are done with any hope of returning to promenence and can look forward to being what MSU once was.

As remote as I consider the possibility to be at the moment, if either were hired here, I am pretty sure the MGoBlue announcement will read:

"I shall leave you as you left me, as you left her

Marooned for all eternity in the center of a dead planet

Buried alive, buried alive..."
