CC: Rapoport: Both Oakland and Michigan will be in the Bay Area to Meet with Harbaugh this Weekend
December 27th, 2014 at 12:38 PM ^
For a solid 20 minutes
December 26th, 2014 at 9:57 PM ^
he just can't let it go
December 26th, 2014 at 9:58 PM ^
Before Jim Harbaugh meets with or , the plan is to handle his commitments first. But both sides will be ready.
December 27th, 2014 at 12:03 AM ^
I don't like to resort to name calling, but Rappaport is a fool!
December 26th, 2014 at 9:58 PM ^
They just won't quit, will they? Stop trying to steal our Christmas!!!
December 26th, 2014 at 9:59 PM ^
Is the king of trolling. Yes Oakland will tamper and SF will trade him to their rival..
December 26th, 2014 at 10:02 PM ^
I was thinking the same thing.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:03 PM ^
from a perpetually struggling franchise.
December 26th, 2014 at 11:05 PM ^
I never knew they were rivals. They aren't in the same conference. Plus I don't remember the last time they played. Just because they are in the same "area" means they're rivals?
December 26th, 2014 at 11:08 PM ^
For fan support, advertising dollars etc. they are absolutely rivals.
December 26th, 2014 at 11:48 PM ^
like three weeks ago
December 26th, 2014 at 11:55 PM ^
The 49ers and Raiders last played each other back in...let's see here...(blows the dust off an old tome)...2 WEEKS AGO!!!
And for those of us that live here it's every bit as real a rivalry as Michigan-MSU. You work with a Raider fan, you live nearby a Raider fan, your mechanic wears a backward Raider cap and sports a Raider tat...
They're insufferable (like sparty), remember every slight real or imagined (like...?), paint themselves as true fans while SF fans are "Forty Whiners"...
Oh it's real, my man. And Jed York don't want Mark Davis looking good at his expense (imagine that anyway!)
December 27th, 2014 at 1:51 AM ^
It's like Cubbies and South side sox's
Both annoying.
December 27th, 2014 at 9:16 AM ^
A few weeks ago.

They are in the same community, which is even worse. If he goes to Oakland and succeeds, it's the same fanbase and press. The criticism would be deafening for either side based on his success or failure.
I don't think it goes down that way. Doubt Oakland wants to give up 1st or 2nd round picks. Doubt JH wants to go to a bad team which doesn't have those high picks.
SF probably wants him to go to Michigan, which reduces the criticism to some extent. Can argue he went back to his Alma Matter to fix it. Mich throws in some cash for the buyout and it would be a wrap.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:00 PM ^
I like our chances against the Raiders.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:03 PM ^
He has a better chance of winning the super bowl with Michigan.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:06 PM ^
I bet he wore that after Labor Day too...smh what a Maveri...err Raider
December 26th, 2014 at 10:09 PM ^
During or near (memory fails) the Eagles' most recent Super Bowl run, when TO was having a great regular season, TO was on pace to catch over 15 touchdowns. TO also warmed up in an all-white outfit. Andy Reid said that if TO broke 15, he (Andy Reid) would wear the same skin-tight all white outfit. One of the national telecasts mentioned this and gave an artists rendition of what it would look like--Andy Reid's head on the Michelin Man's body. Instead of that, they could have used the above picture (though edited out the Dumb & Dumber haircut). Yikes!

He looks like a cross of Nick Swardson's characters from Benchwarmers and Bucky Larson.

Comforting somebody?
December 26th, 2014 at 10:32 PM ^
He's comforting his little friend

Mark Davis is a little disturbing, no doubt. I've lived in the Bay Area for 30 years and, like most people here, had NO IDEA Al Davis even had a son til he passed.
I have been saying Harbaugh to Michigan since the day of the Minnesota game, and nothing is done til it's done. I expect some NFL team to at least ask the 49ers at the conclusion of Sunday's game if they can talk to JH.
But, that being said, with the $$ Hackett put on the table, I don't see the Raiders being one of them. That would never have been Al's style, and I don't think his son has that kind of independent streak.
Worry more if the Falcons lose to Carolina. Blank might spend the money. But most other NFL windows appear to have slammed shut when Michigan ante'd up strong.
Well played Mr. Hackett... well played!
December 27th, 2014 at 12:02 AM ^
How deep are the bite-marks on that person's tongue?
"Oh, Hi! So you wanna go with that look again... Awesome... Yeah, You look great!"
December 26th, 2014 at 10:02 PM ^
Lol ... That would violate NFL tampering rules

Whatever you do in life, you will find people who have a tough time conceding that they were wrong on one thing or another. Ian Rapoport is Exhibit A.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:03 PM ^
How does Oakland fulfill that commitment and still negotiate for JH? Oh and not talk to JH at the same time.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:09 PM ^
By interviewing a black guy.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:13 PM ^
and he's probably already on staff lol
December 26th, 2014 at 10:48 PM ^
But it drags out the process. You think he will quit and wait around? Doubtful
December 26th, 2014 at 11:42 PM ^
For all we know, Oakland has already interviewed an African American coach. All Davis has to do it take a dude out for dinner.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:52 PM ^
They'll dredge up Art Shell for an "interview"
December 26th, 2014 at 11:05 PM ^
And then hire him after Harbaugh turns them done.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:04 PM ^
Did anybody think they wouldn't at least make a run at him? They can't until he's either fired or the niners grant them permission (which is why they've been trying to work out a trade) but once they can take a swing I expect them to take a big one.
They may lose out to us but I'll bet they go down guns a blazen
Unfortunately.

stopping the pretty girl you've admired while she's walking down the isle to get married. At best, you get a polite smile.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:04 PM ^
Rapoport wishes to be sooo right, he's pulling out the cards. He's right,Oakland in the Bay Area, true. He is backtracking and I,for one, can't wait for him and other NFL experts to fail so hard
December 26th, 2014 at 10:19 PM ^
It's not tampering if he is fired or if the 9ers grant permission. It is very easily possible that Oakland and the 9ers could have worked out a trade pending harbaughs agreeing. So season ends Sunday, Oakland talks to harbaugh and he decides between Oakland and Michigan and if he chooses Oakland trade (whatever it is goes through)
December 27th, 2014 at 8:19 AM ^
You can't grant permission until after the season is over. Teams can't even talk to one another about it.

Who else has a headache???
December 26th, 2014 at 10:05 PM ^
Of course Raiders officials will be in the Bay Area they frikin work there
December 26th, 2014 at 10:05 PM ^
wouldn't with taxes oakland would have to offer 10M + to match 8m a year in michigan? thats just absurd money.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:05 PM ^
The #GameOn part is what made me laugh. I pictured Jim Hackett smacking Chuckie Davis across the chops and walking away.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:09 PM ^
lmao, right? Hackett bringing out the pimp hand.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:05 PM ^
Go away Raiders! Stop raining on my IT'S H4PPENING parade.
December 26th, 2014 at 10:05 PM ^
he succeeded at getting the responses he wanted while trying to be funny.
