CC: JLC 2011 Harbaugh

Submitted by mgoaggie on

Jason La Canfora this morning on CBS just threw something out there I've never heard before...

Harbaugh initially briefly accepted the Michigan job back in 2011, when he was preparing to leave Stanford for other opportunities

I guess I was unaware that we got him one time already.

Does anyone else remember how during JH's time as the Michigan QB, a certain college TV color commentator repeated called him Jim 'Hairbauer'?

And it was not just a one time slip up.  It was constant and in more than one game broadcast.

The guy just could not get it through his head that it waws Harbaugh, nor 'Hairbauer.'

regardless though can you imagine had Michigan hired Harbaugh not in2011 but in 2008 right after Lloyd retired. My God how things would have been different

Man, have we heard a lot of bullshit in the past couple weeks.
It's as though Baghdad Bob has left Iraq, and entered the sports information business.

OP: How could you post something so idiotic? Really?

Others: If you want an even better laugh, search on "Hayden Kane" and any combination of Jason / Harbaugh / Michigan / football. You'll see an *awesome* article which, it should be noted, can be accessed from the SI site.

Anything to get clicks from a riled-up UMich fan base, I guess ...

Posted because it had relevance to the 2011 CC and Harbaugh, pretty much why it was titled that way. I also pieced out the only thing from the article that I thought was worth discussing, as I'd never heard it said with such definiteness. I don't agree with the article or the author, but figured it was worth pointing out a (admittedly non-)valuable piece of (non)information.

Believing this is true just based on what we know about Brandon. Brandon wanted a guy who would walk to Michigan and would not challenge his authority. Hoke was all of those things and Harbaugh was not. No way Brandon made a serious offer to JH

Jesus. These NFL guys will do anything to try and prove they were right. It's like they are just trying to sabotage Michigan's coaching search now out of spite

If/when #4 takes the job, it will be interesting to watch the Cowherd types justify their asinine statements. They don't possess the humility to eat crow, so it will turn into some character flaw on the part of Harbaugh. After all, who in their right mind would leave the NFL?
I'm sure Saban wishes he was still with the Dolphins
